Misterious Object Appeared/Vanished on the Surface of Mars

Dear fellow ATSers,

earlier today I was reading something about the Spirit rover as I was trying to find out what happend and why NASA lost comunication with it.
I didn't find anything of interest, just the following, Spirit simply stopped responding:

- More than 1,300 commands were transmitted to Spirit as part of a recovery effort;
- No communication has been received from Spirit since March 22, 2010;
- The project concluded the Spirit recovery efforts on May 25, 2011;
- 2210 days of operation on the surface of Mars;
- Total distance traveled: 4.80 miles (7730.50 meters).

Poor little thing

So, next, I decided to take a look in the pictures of Spirit's last days, so I started browsing...
To my great disbelief, you'll hardly believe what I've found...

Pay close attention to the reference points in the image!!!

May I ask you a question: Was this object responsible for Spirit suddenly stop responding???

I don't think anything vanished.
I think it's just the angle that the pictures were snapped at.

Sorry, but each circle you provided has an object in it. Due to the differing days and angles, without much closer or higher-res views, it is only logical to say it is the same object in each. It does not move, it does not change size anymore than the perception caused by different lights/shadows, it is nothing unusual enough to be out of place given it's surroundings.
There is one item in each photo, and it is always there.
You don't see it? Really? Try again.

I don't believe any actual object was the reason for the loss in communication. The life span of spirit was like 3 months and it far outlived that. It had to also recharge its batteries during that time with solar panels. Things break down in harsh environments and spirit did break down finally, though it achieved well beyond NASA's expectations.

Is that a rock on the 2nd pic at the right hand corner right on the horizon?

Isn't it obvious that in the 3rd picture some kind of reflective object sit on what appear to be rock?
Also, the first two pictures are taken on the same day (2175), the third on 2176, Spirit hardly moved from the position...

Its the same object....

just under the object is a whitish line that can be seen in all 3 pics
the object hasnt moved
it is the same distance away from the line
the rover has moved up the hill and closer to the object

There's an object in every picture, in every circle.

HUH? What is it thats missing?

At least someone saw what I was trying to point out, there's the shiny object missing in third picture.

You have me wrong, I know what you mean, the same thing is in all the pictures, very difficult to see in the first, a bit easier in the second and easily seen in the third. However in the first, the black part of the rock 'spikes' up a little on the left-hand side, that is the shadow of the 'round' object you perceive as something sitting on the black rock, so matter what, nothing appears in the third picture that was not already there. The first two pictures are just darker, and swallow up much of the image of the 'object' which even in the third picture is not all that distinct.

In the 3rd photo The 2nd reference point is a circle of stones.
I think this is more interesting, does anyone know of a hi res image of this area?
