Very cool.
Atlantis...???
It would be like the 20th one discovered.
Let's just call it a city.
Cool though...especially since my Antarctica thread was a bust.
I really did see some interesting stuff down there though...alas...it was poo poo'ed.

I KNOW that there are things yet to be found.
Very cool.
Thanks for the thread.

I again ask, since when has Cuba (as the location in the OP) ever been part of the Bermuda Triangle??

If this simple thing is glaringly wrong just think how much of the rest is...

Meh, probably a typo.

You never heard of the Bermuda Quadrilateral?

Harte my dear fellow have you not heard of the Pine Island pentagon where Dr. Savage found Silphium on an island known as Fear Cay?

Great thread. I wouldn't jump to conclusions on Atlantis but who knows. Question is why is it sitting under the ocean? That also warrants study as to why it sunk.

I am one of those people who believe we should take Plato's words literally. He gives a very detailed description of where Atlantis is, etc. Taking him to his word, he wrote very clearly that Atlantis was west of Straights of Hercules (Gibraltar). It must have been close enough to the Mediterranean for the nation of Atlantis to send armies to conquer much of Europe.

That said, look at this map:

www.esri.com...

Taken from:

www.esri.com...

The map shows where ocean levels are abnormally high because of gravity anomalies. Red is where the anomalies are highest. Notice the continent-sized anomaly just west of Gibraltar. Also notice the trench running through the anomaly running east-west perfectly aligned and parallel to Gibraltar and the Mediterranean Sea.

If this anomaly were nonexistent or in a different location, an entire continent could be exposed. It is entirely possible that Atlantis existed within that area. A gravity anomaly shift would have, therefore, submerged and sank the contingent and islands nearby.

I think I am on to something that deserves serious scientific study.
