Listen, listen, LISTEN!!!! Angry speaker shouts down and humiliates student.

In Early December last year a large public Uni in Malaysia had a forum, a chance for the students to ask questions or give opinions on a particular topic.

The topic of this particular forum was "Serringkah mahasiswa dan politik?" (Are undergraduates and politics aligned?)
Even after the translation I have no idea what it means

So Theres 2 versions

The first one is a happy and funny one

A student is making some valid points and the a speaker gets up out of her chair, storms the 20 meters to the student, takes the microphone from her and proceeds to make a complete boob out of herself.
(And it has an awesome beat)




OK so that gives you the general gist of what happened.

The 2nd version is the full version and to be honest........ Well just plain sad.

To say the media is a bit biased here is an understatement and the article doesnt really explain how bad this was. The girl was actually asking about education fees and why other countries with lower GDPs can offer free schooling but Malaysia couldnt. She mentions "Bersih was legal". That was the protests that got broken up via tear gas and riot police

I think that the video not being in English might have hurt the responses to your thread.

Can you describe your experience at the protest? I would be interested in hearing more.

The cheesy re-mix probably didn't help with getting the message across either.

Surprised it didnt get any attention, I thought it was a great example of the herd mentality and how quickly people could turn on one another when an authority figure tells them too.

The lady was just talking utter nonsense and she was still being applauded.

People are just scary
