30-Jan-2013: Delta-H #13
17-Feb-2013: Handover Season Begins
03-Mar-2013: Eclipse Season Begins
07-Mar-2013: Solar RFI (~418 seconds)
08-Mar-2013: Solar RFI (~440 seconds)

Thank you, Wolverine!

All I was looking for was an answer!
For I'd never seen anything like that,
in alllllll my time voyeristiquely staring at the sun
and her cameras.

Yeah, but didn't you consider that it was simply the spacecraft/camera that moved, rather than the Sun?

I suppose it's "within the realm of possibility" (in the strictest sense of that term) that a star would jump around around like that, but isn't it almost infinitely more likely that the camera simply moved? Why wasn't that something you considered?

Well this video is strange too, some are trying to insist it is the sun, but it is putting off a purple smoke, but since when can we see solar flares from the earth if it is the sun. If not then there is something between the sun and us here. The date of the video is 1/11/2013 Here is the link: www.youtube.com...

EDITING POST....
I thought you were talking about a different picture of a purple sun, so ignore what this post said before I edited it.

-----

Regarding the video in your post:

The black dot is simply the camera's CCD (light sensor) shutting down because the camera is pointed directly at the sun.

The "purple smoke" is simply pixels of that CCD bleeding into one another. The computer algorithm that attempts to construct a picture from the information gathered by the light sensor is probably getting a bit confused by the brightness and the shut-down pixels.

To determine the color of any one particular pixel, the camera's computer algorithm uses information from neighboring pixels. In the case of your video, we had three things happening: (1) The black-out pixels inthe middle of the sun, (2) the very bright yellow pixels surrounding the black-out pixels, and (3) the suns slow movement through the sky as time passes.

Those three things combine to confuse the camera a bit. For some of the pixels around the black dot, the computer considers the black of the dot, the yellow of the sunlight, and the fact that the whole thing is slowly moving, and it returns a "bleeding purple" look.

If he put 1% of the effort that he put into the video toward learning what he's talking about, he'd be a reputable guy.

Hold it, no hating now. ok, just looking for answers here. I am not being rude so please don`t be that way to me. I know cameras have problems sometimes but in the video posted the suns is above the roof line and it is not even being seen by the camera. This is below the poarch line. So please stop putting me down, I am oly reporting what I am seeing here. and giving what info I have to give. and asking questions where I need to. So there is no need for any bad talk towards me. So peace be with u. As for reputable, I am very much that, and many depend on my help to care for them especially my disabled friends.

Yeah -- but then he wouldn't make the money from the advertisements he attaches to his disinformation videos.

I was talking about the OP of THIS thread (NewThor7's video).

The video seen in the OP of this thread is the topic of this thread...
not your video of a sun with the camera's CCD shutting down over-bright pixels. NewThor7 attaches advertising to his videos in order to make money.

That's fine

But I'm not sure why you are frustrated about the answers you are getting in response to your video of the black spot over the sun, and the dark pixels around it "bleeding into" the bright pixels.

It seems to be a classic base of CCD overload, so I'm not sure why you are so frustrated by that explanation.
