Fascist Tactics & the GOP: Voter Challenging

Republican Party officials in Ohio took formal steps yesterday to place thousands of recruits inside polling places on Election Day to challenge the qualifications of voters they suspect are not eligible to cast ballots.

Party officials say their effort is necessary to guard against fraud arising from aggressive moves by the Democrats to register tens of thousands of new voters in Ohio, seen as one of the most pivotal battlegrounds in the Nov. 2 elections.

Registering people is agressive? Unless they're giving them 'Democrat only' registration cards, they're simply getting more people into the process

They said they were scrambling yesterday to be ready for disruptions in the voting process as well as alarm and complaints among voters. Some officials said they worried that the challenges could discourage or even frighten others waiting to vote.

There in lies the reason for the action, but why?

The Democrats, who tend to benefit more than Republicans from large turnouts, said they had registered more than 2,000 recruits to try to protect legitimate voters rather than weed out ineligible ones.

"The organized left's efforts to, quote unquote, register voters - I call them ringers - have created these problems," said James P. Trakas, a Republican co-chairman in Cuyahoga County.

Ringers? Is that born of the 'government fearing people' or 'people fearing government' definition!? Still, why this tactic?

"Our concern is Republicans will be challenging in large numbers for the purpose of slowing down voting, because challenging takes a long time,'' said David Sullivan, the voter protection coordinator for the national Democratic Party in Ohio. "And creating long lines causes our people to leave without voting.''

Oh, I see now! Take that Field Engineer off the line because he's using his lunch break to vote ( seeing as his company is outsourcing like crazy since a certain administration relaxed certain tax penalties for off shoring), so he can't have time! Evil is really never stupid folks!

The recruits will be trained next week, said Mr. Trakas, who added that he had not decided whether to open the training sessions to the public or reporters. Among other things, he said, the recruits will be taught how to challenge mentally disabled voters who are assisted by anyone other than their legal guardians. In previous elections, he said, bus drivers who had taken group-home residents to polling places often helped them vote.

My subject title says it all: we truely are in a dangerous place when so many Americans are willfully employing tactics that were the norm in fascist states that our grandfathers fought against.

If you are challenged and have a proper ID you have nothing to worry about.

When people are paid to register voters there is bound to be fraud. Especially when they are paid with crack.

When you have more people registered to vote, than live in a certain precinct, you are bound to have fraud.

If you are legit, you have nothing to worry about. But there is a lot of worrying about this on the dem side.

The instances of fraud and other distasteful tactics by the Democrats are on a rapid increase.

Hey you cant blame democrts, they just want all dead, fictitious, invalid, criminal, and mentally challenged democrats to have the rght to vote. I mean come on what are they supposed to do when no living, non-criminal with a functioning brain would vote for kerry?
