In America, everyone should prosper. From the leader and founder of a company to the person that washes the tables.

There is a way to achieve this.

Instead of the masses paying ever increasing income taxes, tax the money that is spent. The high income families will make even more money to buy fancy things and the average citizen will have more to pay off debt or go to college.

Sure your car might cost 30% more, the bank account is just a number. I'm sure your boys would appreciate being able to afford school on their own.

The dark side of it. The drug trade, under the table work transactions. Any tax paying citizen should be appalled. We don't have wiggle room.

We are being shoved into a corner.

Talk to your friends, talk to your alderman. Show them this video.

Or we could shrink the size of our bloated corrupt government, and ensure that the money is spent responsibly and effectively.

Then we wouldn't have to worry about all this crap.

Fair share is one thing ...Theft is another.

What about all the wealth that was stolen and continues to be stolen from the people? Food, land, retirement, health...The Future?

Fair Share was paid a long time ago. It's time the debt was repaid....back to the people.

Peace

I`ve always believed that this would be a good idea, this way the people who have the most money to spend pay the most taxes, and those who have little to spend will pay the least taxes.

Either get rid of income tax in favor of VAT or no more loopholes and deductions, flat tax for all.

BUT it has to come with massive cuts to the government.

Its not going to feel good at first but it has to be done.

It's fair.

If your rich and you don't think its fair maybe you should opt for a Kia instead of the Lexus

I think you mean to say the people who spend the most. The typical millionaire, however, is a spendthrift.

Or maybe you could all realize that the Income Taxation Act was never fully ratified by congress. Take from that what you will. If you axed the Fed, your government would have no problem paying it's bills, but nooooo, that would make sense and ya can't have that now can you.

This policy would have the wealthy paying wayyyy less in taxes.

Right now their entire income is taxed, and at a higher rate than the middle class.

Think about it, the more money you make, the more you save...

So here a poor person is getting close to 100% of their income taxed, middle class maybe 90-95%, but a person who makes 100 million is probably not spending a huge percentage of that...

If a person makes 100M right now, they'll pay 35M or so in tax. But under this policy, even if they spend 80 of it(unlikely), and it is taxed at 30%, they are only paying 24M in tax.

This policy gives people who save more a lower tax rate...which is the wealthy.

There is a reason for a progressive tax. Mostly, because a family of four with an income of 20K simply can not pay very much and afford food and shelter.

If everyone is just taxed at the same rate, with no regard for situation, more people are starving and homeless.

People who are extremely poor right now do not pay tax, because they can't. If there is a 30% price increase, someone who isn't making much money can no longer afford to live.

You can't give a tax return unless you keep track of everyone's spending.

This system doesn't work in practice.

To create a fair tax system we must first rid ourselves of those that prosper through the system we now have!
Unfortunately there are not enough of us to do this at the present time and no matter how fair a system seems, there will always be those that cry foul! besides them there are those that are afraid of change and those that actually profit from the corrupt system who have no intention of allowing a just and fair system to be implimented! these people that profit have erected many obstacles, blocking any kind of fair system from bringing change! It is a monumental task, requiring the world to drop to its knees first, before submitting! Sort of like an addict having to hit rock bottom before they can ever admit they actually have a problem and need to bring positive consistant change before they can flourish! This is unfortunate but the only way humanity will prosper!
History has shown us this time and time again how prosperous nations have succumbed to corrupt injustice but we seem to consistantly repeat the process over the millennia as if we are unable to stray from our destiny of being oppressed by those willing to compromise their ethics for ambition! Maybe we have not evolved beyond our predatory nature to be able to treat our peers fairly! Maybe it is natural to always have those at the predatory apex feeding on the base? Realize this though when the weight of the apex exceeds the base of the pyramid this imbalance will cause it to crumble! This affliction leaves us unable to prioritize and allow for a stable future free from self destruction! Even though science shows we will enevitably purge our lands from being able to provide for an ever increasing population! We ignorantly race to the day when our land will refuse our plees to provide for its progeny! Infinate growth of populus and demand, finate land and resources will lead to a tax system which our world will no longer be able to provide! this amazes me! How do we let our gratification supress our common sense? How can we claim to love our children but deny them a future free from hunger because our own selfishness lets us refuse to see the elephant siting atop our destiny?
