France and Britain are reportedly considering moves against Israel over Tel Aviv’s decision to expand settlement construction in occupied territories, diplomats told an Israeli newspaper. This may include recalling ambassadors for the first time.

On 29 November 2012, the United Nations General Assembly voted to upgrade the status of the Palestinians to that of a non-member observer state . A day later , Israel authorized the construction of 3,000 new settlements in the area known as E1, between Ma’aleh Adumim and Jerusalem . They also canceled the transfer of US$120 million collected in taxes on behalf of the Palestinian Authority .
Following these provocative steps from Israel , Britain and France are planning to recall their diplomats from Israel. The recalling of ambassadors is a strong measure that has never been taken by the UK and France against Israel before. The construction of the new settlements in the E1 area connecting the Israeli settlement Ma’aleh Adumim and Jerusalem, could become a big obstacle for the future any Palestinian state as it would prevent territorial contiguity between the northern and southern West Bank.

“This time it won’t just be a condemnation, there will be real action taken against Israel,” a senior European diplomat told Haaretz daily.

“London is furious about the E1 decision,” one of the diplomats said.

Theses Irresponsible and provocative illegal acts from Israel proves that they never wanted peace with the state of Palestine . Their only motive is to capture more and more Palestinian lands and expand their illegal settlements in the occupied territories .

Israel are a disgrace.

I hate to even feel this way but in all honesty they have it coming. Nuclear war. Terrorism. Holocaust. Whatever.

The innocent people in Israel should be fighting this and if they aren't then they're deserving of what comes their way.

The three European diplomats who spoke to the paper indicated that London and Paris were coordinating their moves against Israel, and have discussed the extraordinary step of recalling their ambassadors for consultations. The action, whatever it may be, could be implemented in the next few days.

The recalling of ambassadors is a strong measure that has never been taken by the UK and France against Israel before. Haaretz stressed that the two nations may not take such action right now, but resort to it should the Israeli actions against the Palestinians escalate.

Well, I won't believe it until I see it happening.

Or maybe it's just that big shift of consciousness of 2012, it would literally be a like a miracle.

Well, sad to say, our Foreign Minister stated the next morning after the vote that he intended to recall our Diplomat's from Israel and the West Bank, but in support of Israel. I wonder what he'll have to say about this? He's such a smarmy creep.

Israel response to the news of France and UK pulling their ambassadors:

"We don't care were are Israel, this was our land a billion trillion years ago, god said so and it written in the history books we make, UK and France are anti-semitic jew haters, what about the holocaust, send us more money, or we send more spy's to steal your state secrets and worm our way into your political system, we are Israel how dare you say we can't do as we want. "

Lets hope the UK and France sticks to their guns on this and does pull out there ambassadors, even America getting tired or making excuse's for Israel's arrogance, as they bury themselves further into isolation with there self righteous nature.

Just watch Israel act like a spoilt brat teenager now and stamp her feet and throw her towns out the pram.

Israel shows the world what a spoiled child they really are. And this will backflash on Israel and the US. Already other nations are sending money into Palestine. Kuwait just sent $50 million. Other nations will likely follow, meaning that Palestine will be more independent of the US and Israel. And given that this is technically Palestinian funds being withheld by Israel, the world will view it as Israel robbing people after having just bombed them into rubble.

Meanwhile , France, UK summon Israeli ambassadors over settlement controversy

RT

International criticism has been mounting against Israeli plans to build new settlements. The UK and France summoned their Israeli ambassadors to get clarification and show disapproval amid reports of recalls. Other countries also spoke out.

International reaction against Israel has been heated.

Britain is considering a strong reaction to Israel’s plans and has summoned Israeli ambassador for talks over planned settlements, asking for clarification on the issue.

British Foreign Office spokesperson told AFP that “the recent Israeli government decision to build 3,000 new housing units threatens the two-state solution and makes progress through negotiations harder to achieve.”

France also consulted its ambassador to Israel to decide on measures to show its disapproval.

Thanks for the heads-up, UltraMarine.
Finally some sort of justice!
Let's hope this is the beginning of an unbiased look at this absurd conflict, which would pave the way to a fair settlement and thus end the horrible sufferings of the ordinary citizens of these two nations.
This bloody conflict is going on for way too long and, if you ask me, the manner in which it was handled, is a shame on mankind as a whole.
The UN, an impartial (neutral and objective) Security Council and ultimately the Blue Helmets should have dealt with this abomination long ago, for the sake of us all.

Namaste.

Thanks to 'Jewish Voice For Peace', there is another interesting and encouraging development on this issue: "Israeli Artists Condemn Settlements": www.obamaletter.org...

It looks like progressive forces within the Israeli society are waking up and making a stand.

UK, France, Sweden, Spain and Denmark, have all now summoned Israeli ambassadors in there retrospective countries.

Netanyahu has said in reply to ambassadors being called in.

"We will continue to stand by our vital national interests against international pressure and there will be no change in the decision that was made."

So now it's getting to the point, what will America do, stand by little Israel and destroy the important and valuable European alliance, or stand by far right wing national extremist Bibi "the megalomaniac bully" Netanyahu.

As I've said before, Israel is now becoming a embarrassing burden for America.

Israel doesn't care. If you have the support of the USA the rest of the world isn't important.

The UK and France can wave the diplomatic finger and thats about it.

EU Ambassadors : "We're really rather perturbed you know, this just isn't cricket"

Israeli Ambassador : "Meh".

I forget who originally said it but its apt: the Palestine/Israel peace process is like 2 people negotiating over ownership of a cake while one of them continues to eat it. I'm pretty sure some empty verbiage from old europe is a small price to pay for another big slice of the cake. Nom nom nom.

Israel is, unfortunately, an oppressor state running an apartheid regime and creating a secondary class of person that has no rights and is subject to the whims of their rulers.

Make trade not war.

________-

Israel needs a market for their goods -

________-

138 Countries voted in favour of upgrading the Palestinians status.

...... that is a lot of countries to give the finger too.

The E.U. alone is a substantial market for Israeli goods
