Food Stamps do not even cover prepared food, in most cases. I have seen containers of chicken at the local grocer with cold chicken, but the heated stuff is always cash only.

Anyway -- if someone is using an EBT card to pull money at a Strip Club, my guess is its a single mom who dances to pay rent, more often than not. Strippers is an occupation no one wants to off-shore.

What does Romney or the GOP have to do with anything relating to Food Stamps and it outnumbering the total population of 24 states?

Obama has been the man in charge and in leadership now for 4 years. Romney was never in office...never will be in office...and his private opinions are just that now. Private opinions of a Private citizen. Looking backward is how people walk into brick walls and there is one coming up real quick here. Jan 2nd, to be precise. That is but the first of several but it's the biggest one to look at for now.

I'd also love to see the banks busted....those same banks and lenders that people like Franks and Dodd had oversight over. Err... They aren't GOP though so it isn't partisan and shouldn't count I suppose.... The fact is, Republicans did just as much and partisanship here is as ugly as it is out of place. Americans are unable to FEED themselves without Government charity at numbers not seen since the Depression and before Food Stamps existed.

Americans here....We have the blame game down 100% and perfect. We can play it better than anyone on Earth before us. Now lets agree we're the best at blaming everyone else and just set to fixing things for a change. It'd be a start before a collapse makes it a necessity of base survival.

I don't know the answer but doesn't that give the government even MORE power? And aren't the DEMS just as much into corporations? Obama and his bundlers sure are. I'm not seeing much of a difference between the republican and democratic leadership when it comes to facism or corporate power grabbing ..etc etc.

Well, looks like I have nothing further to add here. Just a daily exercise in complaining about having something that other nations would kill for. Welcome to America, where the people complain because the gas is expensive but welfare is cheap.

Have fun!

It seems that the same ones who complain about food stamps are the same ones who are quick to demoralize the people who stand up and demand better wages. My question to the op and any one else who feels that the food stamp program is ruining their lives. How many food stamp recipients work?

Or get the government to spend smarter.
Or make it once again government 'by the people and for the people'.
Or expose those who are incompetent or power grabbing in the government.
Or all of the above.

You know, if the Obama admin just took all our money and gave us ALL foodstamp cards, and domicile cards, and alcohol cards, and cigarette cards, and automobile cards, then the government could just track and determine how we all should live.

This thread is about the government failing the American people and how it's policies are causing more people than ever to have to rely on foodstamps. And the question is asked .. is it because those in government are incompetent that this is happening or is it being done on purpose as a power grab to get everyone dependent upon the government?

So how do you get from that, to you thinking that people are saying 'the food stamp program is ruining their lives'??

Oh but wise Bunny-In-Chief (You do fit well in that Avatar, have I mentioned that? lol)... If we all received a super-duper-double value welfare card like you describe, who then would be left to go to work and produce the goods our super card would purchase? After all, if we all got such things for nothing, no motivation would exist to do something like... eww... work. What would be the point? And so...bare shelves would lead to worthless little Super-Flop cards, eh?

47,102,780 "Democratic" Votes.

Normal everyday working people will only wake-up to the pit-falls of Fascist Socialism after they do not receive any income taxes back one year and then the next year are taxed @ 75% flat rate to pay for this insanity, with eroded purchasing power to boot.

The next "Civil War" will be fought over slavery. Slavery to those who do not wish to contribute...
edit on 24-11-2012 by ConspiracyBuff because: (no reason given)

please...you are contributing less in taxes under obama, than you have in decades...please base your hyperbolic attacks on facts, and not some predisposed decades-old right-wing talking points.

I get that because of all the things government spend money on some choose this topic to whine about. So IMO food stamps must have a direct impact on the people who are complaining.

I don't mind more government power, as long as it's for the good of the people. Stopping corporations from unbridled greed is a good thing. Stopping Wall Street from speculating on necessities like oil and gas (contributing to those prices staying high) is a good thing. Stopping financial institutions from causing another mortgage investment crisis is a good thing. You have any suggestions on how to stop these things without regulations?

Naaaah, that'd never happen! If it did, we'd have seen countries that have tried that, fail!

-sheesh, I expect more from a fellow bunny.

Some 70% of households that relied on food stamps last year had no earned income, a new report shows.

Now the question to you .. is the government doing this ON PURPOSE to cause more people to be on food stamps in order to gain power over the people?? What do you think??

Of course. That is the nature of capitalism on a large scale.
