I dont know if this should go under medical or paranormal so feel free to move it if I posted in the wrong place.

This might seem like a dumb question but I've been thinking about it for years. Have any studies been done to confirm or contradict how accurate someone's life line is? I think it is interestng that a palm reader can say how long someone's life will be based on a crease in their palm but I have always wondered if anyone has ever taken the time to study the validity of this relation.

When my brother was in medical school and doing his residency I asked him to take notice of the palms of the deceased and their age so that he could do an unscientific study. He has no interest in palm reading or the paranormal so he blew me off but I've always been curious about this.

Does anyone know if there is any scientific proof that there is a link between the length of your life line and your actual life? And, have you ever seen anyone with a short life line? I haven't, which is what sparked this curiosity to begin with!

Hmm. I hope so. My lifeline runs right thru the base of the wrist.

No, there is no correlation and no possible way someone can look at your palm and tell how long you will live. Palm readers want a quick buck, and I think it would be wise to take palm readings for enterntainment value perhaps, if you're really bored...because they mean nothing.

It is as real as you make it.

Have any of you ever seen a SHORT life line? I never have. I'm not sure they even exist!

It's not all about having a long "life line" it depends what's on the life line, and how it is formed, how clear it is, and what lines intersect with it. It is a combination of all things. I am not really a believer in palmistry, however I think it, as an aid, like other forms of divination, it can help a psychic give a reading to someone.

Which line IS the lifeline? If its the one that goes down towards your wrist, mine is sure weird on one hand. It looks like a tree. Maybe I've got multiple personalities? Seriously though, which one is it?
