NEWS: 2 Plane Crashes Leave 10 Dead - Missouri and Atlanta

At least 8 of the 15 people on board a commuter plane are dead after the plane crashed in northeastern Missouri last night. The flight was operated by Corporate Airlines, an affiliate of American Airlines, and was on it's regular route from St Louis when it crashed into a wooded area four miles south of Kirksville Airport.

KIRKSVILLE, Mo., Oct. 19 -- A commuter plane crashed Tuesday night in a wooded area in northeastern Missouri, killing at least eight of the 15 people on board, the Federal Aviation Administration in Chicago said.

At least two people from the flight survived and were being treated at a local hospital, and five were missing, Adair County Chief Deputy Larry Logston said.

2 people are confirmed to have survived the crash and are being treated at the hospital. There are still 5 people missing. No word yet on what caused to crash.

In Atlanta, a small twin engine plane crashed near the birthplace of Martin Luther King Jr., leaving 2 dead. The plane did clip an auto bodyshop, however no one on the ground was injured. The plane did send out a distress signal before it crashed, but it is not known what caused the aircraft to spin out of control.

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- A small plane clipped an auto-body shop and crashed and burned in a parking lot Tuesday near the birthplace of Martin Luther King Jr., killing both people aboard.

No one on the ground was hurt.

The twin-engine Beechcraft had taken off from the nearby DeKalb-Peachtree Airport and was headed to Venice, Florida, in a rainstorm when it went into a nosedive.

Witnesses claim they saw the plane do loops and a nosedive. It is reported that a rainstorm was moving through the area around the time of the crash. It is not confirmed yet whether the storm is what caused the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board is invesigating the crash.
