Yep, they are not connecting.

Now, one blog I watch has been down ever since Sandy hit - but, I THINK I've visited Spaceweather several times (daily) since Sandy hit.

Latency reports out of New York are up to a whopping 97ms for absolute and 80ms for relative.

Any idea where their server is or is hosted? What state.

I just checked Space Weather this morning and everything was fine. It must be something wrong with the servers because usually it would give a 404 error. Since the front page just isn't loading and a link to one of the other pages on the site is loading but loading very slow it's either due to server over load or some kind of work they are doing to the servers.

Source: www.spaceweather.com...

Of course them are just links found on Google but at least it shows that some parts of the site are still operational.

I find that spaceweather.com can be a bit on the sensationalistic side.
I prefer to go to the source(s) of their data.
www.swpc.noaa.gov...
sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov...

Same here now. They were down completely, then up, then only partly up, now down again in a different way - sort of like the stock market.

Yes. It seems that anything past 2010 (which is probably archived) gives that message. It could be anything from a simple error from the person to running the site to a small error with the company that hosts it.

spaceweatherphone.com... is still up and running but maybe they don't use the same hosting company. I'll see what I can dig up but it will most likely be back up by the time I figure it out.

But you prefer the full meal deal
Some of us just need a quick serving of predigested grits.

Actually - I watch because I alert melanoma patients and get a quick glance of the NEOs without spending all my time on the True Grit.

I agree. This isn't the first time that the site has had down time problems. Maybe they should hire someone who isn't so rough with there equipment. Or get a new host.
