The Illuminati never said anything about "creating a world without private property"; they were liberals, not socialists. The Illuminati came into existence before the Industrial Revolution, when Bavaria was still a feudal society. "Private property" as we know it did not even exist, with all land being distributed through the various manors. It was the feudal system, along with its corruption, that the Illuminati wished to abolish. It should be noted that the same goal was held by all the Enlightenment intellectuals, not only those involved in Weishaupt's group.

North Korea cannot be explained by Barruel and Robinson. North Korea has based its society on the Stalinist/Maoist model, which in turn derived from a radical form of Marxism-Leninism. Marxism was a reaction against the corruptions and oppression of 19th century industrial capitalism, which left the working class in a position of virtual slavery. It had nothing to do with the political theories of the Enlightenment, which historians call Classical Liberalism.
Furthermore, the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia in 1917 had more ties to the Czarist tradition than with classical Marxism. The Communists had been jailed and tortured by the Czar's police, and this was all they knew. It is not amazing that they launched a terror campaign in turn against their former oppressors.
Same thing in North Korea. None of the Communist countries had ever experienced democracy (which was the Enlightenment was all about). This point should be stressed: no free country ever turned communist. Communist dictatorships popped up to replace non-communist dictatorships. Their ideologies were different, but their tyrannies were the same. Nor did communism ever come to power in any nation that had accepted the ideals of the Enlightenment, which the Illuminati was formed to defend.
