Residents Report Glowing Light In Sky
Man Thinks It Could Have Been UFO

POSTED: 1:27 pm EDT October 18, 2004
HUDSON, Ohio -- There have been a few strange sightings near Hudson lately.

According to a resident, there has been a strange glowing light in the sky.

SLIDESHOW: UFO?

One of the latest reports came from Jonathan Nascone, a Hudson resident.

He said the light hovered and moved around as the orangish glow faded at about 6:45 p.m. Sunday.

He said the event lasted about 20 minutes. Nascone sent in photos of what he saw. See the slideshow.

So far, police said they have not received any reports about anything strange in the sky.

Judging from thr report, I'm going to say that this was an atmospherical phenomena. Note that it faded, according to one eyewitness, at about 6:45 pm. That's sunset time. If it faded out at this time, I think it could have been ice crystals reflecting the setting sun. Movement of the clouds could have made it appear to bob around a bit.

I will post my sighting from the nuforc website:

National UFO Reporting Center Sighting Report
Occurred : 9/21/2004 19:30 (Entered as : 09/21/2004 19:30)
Reported: 9/21/2004 7:10:21 PM 19:10
Posted: 9/29/2004
Location: Columbus, OH
Shape: Disk
Duration:5 minutes
Glowing UFO seen in Columbus that began traveling backwards nearly instantly

I cannot confirm exactly what it is that I saw. It was flat however, with no limbs of any sort such as wings found on an airplane. I could slightly tell the shape was reminiscent of a disk or saucer.

It began its journey in the near proximity of the moon. As it neared larger cloud formations I could at times see that it was going behind them. The only clouds present in the sky were the high cirrus clouds, yet like I said earlier, I could roughly discern a shape.

As it came from behind a cloud, it had lost its glow and now its shape was much more clearly prominent. It was then a dull metallic hue. Moments later it vanished from sight.

Its descent across 1/4 of the sky had taken no more than two minutes. Keep in mind that this was not traveling away from me. It kept its size and girth throughout and seemed to be traveling in an arc or semicircle around my location.

I frantically searched the dusk sky for the object but I could no longer see it. Resigned to thinking I had hallucinated, I walked away defeated all the while fighting the urge to run into a nearby restaurant and shout "Did you see the UFO?!" A quick glance caught me off guard as I realized that the object was back in the sky and glowing- only now it was suddenly traveling the opposite direction.

Correct me if I speak wrongly, but can a plane suddenly begin traveling the exact opposite direction in mid flight? Either I'm on a rollercoaster and this is loony land or I really did see a UFO tonight.

I had never seen a UFO before and is wasn't as frightening as I thought it would be. I was downtown at the time of this sighting and several others were watching as well.

Just a week and a half later, I was at franklin park conservatory and witnessed three lights that behaved very similar to my earlier sighting. Again, many other people were walking around.
