A ufo streaks past Felix Baumgartner as he sits in the capsule waiting to get out. The UFO passes at high speed...just above Felix's helmet. I dont think it can be anything from the balloon or capsule as it is traveling far too fast...its dropping faster than gravity can pull.

To add, it would seem mad to suggest its a satellite or debris. I dont think they would want to show the first dead person at 128k feet.

Its hard to tell which way its going because it is only seen in a small part of the opening.

Oh look, a meteor.

Hopefully he had the presence of mind to make a wish.

Do you not think they would have thought of that and tried to avoid it as much as possible?
It could be, it cant be ruled out. I find it odd these meteors are always raining down apparently, but never hit anything, even in high altitude.

Its ice.
Find the video for the moment he opens the door.
LOTS of ice falls off the top.

Edit - this video, at the 10:12 mark....

But never hit planes, high altitude drones, or people jumping from balloons.

If that was a meteor they all played it pretty cool.

How exactly do you suggest they could have calculated the trajectory of a meteor that small? They are a constant danger to satellites, the ISS, etc. Astronomers can only track objects that are large enough for them to see with our current technology.

The guy won the lottery in a cosmological sense by not getting smoked by one in the first place.

You see the ice fall off the door. I see nothing strange there either.
This thing was in front of the capsule. It doesnt look anything like in the ice in the video

Meteorites hit the earth and various objects all the time. They've even impacted peoples homes. The fact they don't often hit planes/drones probably has something to do with the probability of a space rock small enough it can't be tracked but large enough it makes it through the earths atmosphere traveling from any incoming degree in space at thousands of miles an hour and having to impact an object moving LATERALLY across the earth (and under intelligent control) relative to it's surface at hundreds of miles an hour. I suck at math, but if you'd like to take a crack at the probability of such an impact I'm all ears.

This has been posted....turned inside out, discussed, and debunked. The search feature is a very useful tool

It's been determined from another angle of this particular moment that what is seen falling when he opens the hatch is a chunk of ice breaking away.
