In a bizarre development on the fight for Proposition 37 (the GMO labeling initiative) in California, the “No on 37″ campaign, funded by Monsanto and other agribusiness giants, has been forced to pull one of its own television ads.
The ad featured an opinion from an individual identified on screen as “Dr. Henry I. Miller M.D., Stanford University, founding dir. FDA Office of Technology.”
But the title was a lie! Just like everything else about GMOs, it’s all truly a bunch of lies based on fraud and trickery.
As it turns out, Dr. Henry Miller doesn’t work for Stanford University at all. He’s actually a “research fellow” at the Hoover Institution, which just happens to be physically located on the same plot of land as Stanford University.

theintelhub.com...

so the gm lobby uses a past tobacco lobby guy pretending to be a research fellow at stanford,
to lie to the public and sound like an expert.

i scares me they use the same companies and tactics as big tabacco used years ago to lie about tobacco,
in the GMO debate.

why does monsanto need to fake things and lie to get support,
and if thety would do this with adds imagine what they do with safety tests!!!!!!!

if they will lie on camera, they will lie on paper,

label GMOs might be like the tobacco fight of the sixties and seventies.
they have the proof its dangerous, it just makes to much money to do whats right

This is Awesome. Who know Monsanto was so stupid?

If you live in California Vote YES to Prop 37 this November !

We can win this thing people. First get the labels on the foods. Then call for grocery stores to separate the GMO foods from the Non GMO foods. Then super educate the public of the dangers of GMO foods. watch the GMO isles at the grocery stores get smaller and smaller because the stores stop selling products they aren't making money on. GMO's will die.

It's a simple 123 solution.

Lies lies lies... how can anyone believe a single word these monsters say

In the uk most superstores have an organic section. You could fit it into your kitchen. And even though its so small its still poorly stocked. When they do restock it, it's never with the same type/brand, it makes it difficult to find regulat supplies. Its so obviously done on purpose.

I buy from local organic farms, it cost a little more but definately worth it.

I'm sure they will be fined heavily and forced to publicly apologize.

I have this thing about repeating myself so from another post of mine

"There is a long long history of monsantos lies

Yet...........the gov chooses to forget these and think a leopard can change its spots

"Earlier this week, Monsanto was found guilty by France’s highest court of false advertising, for claims that Roundup, its toxic weed killer, is biodegradable and leaves “the soil clean.” 2001

"In 1996, the New York Attorney General fined the company $50,000 for claims that Roundup was, you guessed it, biodegradable and good for the environment."

"In 1999, the British Advertising Standards Authority found the company lied about safety testing and environmental benefits in ads about its genetically modified (GMO) crops."

"Two labs conducting glyphosate safety studies for Monsanto were cited for “routine falsification of data” and other offenses."

"An EPA scientist found Monsanto doctored studies and covered-up the dioxin contamination of a wide range of its products. She concluded that the company’s behavior constituted “a long pattern of fraud.”

"For decades, Monsanto dumped highly toxic PCBs in Anniston Alabama, then spent years covering up the dumping and the attendant health hazards to residents. As the Washington Post reported"

"…for nearly 40 years, while producing the now-banned industrial coolants known as PCBs at a local factory, Monsanto Co. routinely discharged toxic waste into a west Anniston creek and dumped millions of pounds of PCBs into oozing open-pit landfills. And thousands of pages of Monsanto documents — many emblazoned with warnings such as “CONFIDENTIAL: Read and Destroy” — show that for decades, the corporate giant concealed what it did and what it knew."

"In 1999, the New York Times exposed that Monsanto hired public relations giant Burson Marsteller to pay fake protesters who posed as “pro-GMO” food demonstrators outside a Washington, DC FDA meeting. The Biotech Industry Organization, a Monsanto-supported trade group, similarly was charged with arranging for bringing African and Asian pro-GMO speakers to the 2002 Earth Summit and posing them as poor farmers. In 2003, EU environmentalists charged Monsanto with arranging another “fake parade” of purported African “farm experts” to a European Parliament meeting."

corporatecrime.wordpress.com...

And this is just the tip of the iceberg of what we have found out"

Monsanto is a lying POS always has been always will be

In the 80's Monsanto was struggling ....I mean REALLY struggling to get their GM crops passed as safe for consumption .........that was until bush snr went there for a tour,
They raised the point that they were having difficulties getting their produce pass FSA regulation,
Bush's reply..."we'll give us a call, we're in the deregulation business"

And it's been the same slippery slope ever since
I believe they saw a way to put BIG plans in motion .......yes we'll ease the regulation .......if you do this to your crops for us ..........win win.........you get paid.......we get to enact our agenda........

Be that agenda 21, aluminium resistant to resist against chemtrailing, what ever, but it is very fishy how the gov eased regulation, jumped in bed together, and have stayed that way regardless of public opinion, independent science, deceit, lies, illegal activity ect, more gov employees go to work for Monsanto, more Monsanto employees get relevant jobs in the gov, and many many senators and congressmen KEEP investing in them

I really really do wonder ?

haha, ahhhhhh, thank you, for this hilarious OP! Made my evening!

This just proves that we shouldn't underestimate the desperation and stupidity of a corporation! However, it also goes to show how ignorant they think people are. I think I shall look into their other so called "experts."

So I posed this question on another related thread. How is it possible to buy non GMO when most of what we eat has some Corn, Soy, etc. in it??

If by some luck, GMO's become illegal, will they plow every Corn Field down and have to replant?? Will they use the seed bank in Norway (??) to replant?? Will there be some kind of a phase out which will probably cause some cross breading??

I think this label thing is just to get us used to the GMO issue being Public instead of being hidden. No one knew our Corn was GMO until fairly recently and its been going on for decades.

This can't be true. I know this because Monsanto has always been an honest and upstanding company. Surely, this is just an honest mistake and Monsanto can get back to ending world hunger and helping kids worldwide.

Wow... All this GMO stuff is kind of scary. I guess it shows that big corporations couldn't really care what happens to its consumers as long as they can still buy more products. I read a study on long term GMO effects on mice, 70% of female mice developed large (and disgusting) tumors.

If anyone is interested I would be happy to list it.

Thanks for the links. Didnt realize all the other "potential" GMO foods out there. That laundry list though sure seems to make it difficult no matter how hard you try and avoid them. Thank God we had trust worthy Congressman and Senators to look out for our wellbeing. LOL. Its a disgrace!!!!!

Tell me about it
At the moment home for me ( when I'm here ) is in Northern Europe where gmo's are majority labeled

However I spend most of my time away .....usually, recently, at a US maintained camp, where surprise surprise the VAST majority of the food stuffs served in the chow halls, or available to buy from the shops contain GMO's

Now in 2006 after a tour in afghan I started becoming increasingly ill.......very ill, only occasionally, but always the same symptoms and it would utterly destroy me to the point my body started re-absorbing muscle
2007 (afghan)the same ...after about 2 weeks in theatre until about 4 weeks after returning
Again in 08 (afghan) the same .....2 weeks in, getting sick.....recovering.....so watching what I eat.....eating fresh local produce when I could ( hell I'd rather eat ass of goat in afghan than a corn dog from the chow hall )
Found the same in 09 (Iraq)
And again in 10 (afghan)
Then again in '11 (afghan)
Always the same .......always after a period at a US maintained base

Initially I thought it may be down to something as simple as the fats used for cooking !

Anyway after 2 years I was eventually diagnosed with gastro reflux diesese ....after some independent research found that there is a link with this condition to GMO's

Since drawing this conclusion I've almost totally avoided GMO's and have not had ANY sickness

Great to hear that the people of California aren't going to put up with this shizzo from Monsanto. However, if Presidential elections can be tampered with to influence the outcome what makes anyone think the same can't be done with Prop 37?

I was young & healthy, ate all natural foods and didn't even own a salt shaker. Because of that (Drs say) I developed an goiter, had radiation therapy and a diet change (Drs orders). Before this I was strong, healthy, and almost never sick in my life. After this is when it all started.. I developed thyroid disease first, months later Bells Palsy, a couple yrs after that spinal meningitis, and since then Raynaulds, CRPS, OA, DDD, and now my Drs think I have Lupus. Most of this within a few yrs., but all of this within about 20.

That may seem like a long period of time for some, but this all started at a young age of 24. I use to be able to eat most anything, but now I have acid reflux when I eat anything other than bland foods, and especially if I consume dairy. Other than a sprained ankle & concussion at 13 from a bike wreck and having an ear infection I never went to A Dr. in all of my young life [other than dentist every 6 mos.]. For the last 25 yrs I have been to the Dr every 3-6 mos.,one specialist every month, and I only just turned 52. That's considered relatively young in my family where the youngest person to die from natural causes[if you call cancer natural] was at 73.

Maybe I was simply dealt this hand, but I tend to think it's something else-something in our food and water. My instincts are generally correct, so I feel pretty certain we can't hide from it unless we grow our own foods in a greenhouse. Even then, I'm not real trusting of our soil anymore.

So if anybody ever sees this guy can we make a citizens arrest? Although if you were to try it, you would probably be charged with kidnapping.

They know if labelling is brought in, people will abandon GMO foods in droves until they're proved categorically safe for consumption. As such, they're going to fight tooth and nail to quash this bill.
