So far... no proof of invading hordes of aliens, zombies, even inter-dimensional entities.

I look skyward and see nought.

Lots of things will happen, just not the end of the world. On that I agree with you.

Some will also be pleased to know that I have postponed my plans for eliminating the human race, pending the outcome of certain events.
Unfortunately, I think the doom threads are going to be ratcheting up here over the next few months.

Loving this. Food prices set to rise 14% over the next year. Global economic uncertainty. Countless minor-major conflicts ongoing. Lowest level of Arctic ice ever recorded. Certain states trying to provoke a war so they will benefit from raised oil prices. Internet warfare affecting national infrastructure. Increasing ecological/environmental disasters being recorded.

I will stop there.

if were talking about that 2012 deal
then with a certainly I can predict that as Dec. is football season, my husband will be sitting on the couch with his nachos and beer in hand... if his team fumbles or gets sacked at a key moment... all hell will break lose in my living room...

Betcha missed the part where Congress gave the PResident authority to kill Americans without a trial. Use the military to detain Americans forever without a trial.

Phew, I'll feel much better now. Don't need to take my meds.

The thing is - change is a universal constant. Some 'thing' is always happening. Remember that we've had relative calm on this planet for over 40 years. We are well and truly past our 'doom' date. And by doom I mean horrible crap - like for instance the great depression of the 30's, or the 1st or 2nd World Wars, The Black Plague, The Ice Age, Vanilla Ice ..............
