The thought that people are scanning me for entering a website is not on. anyone have any suggestions? kinda makes you wonder if nasa are monitoring thsi website then we must be close to something, right?

Please post the link that is running the scan. They may just be scanning for browser type mime relations etc.

It probably has something to do with any Nasa photos that here on the site....not that Nasa is actually scanning you..I dunno...

Does your computer make funny noises? This may be silly but.... last night my computer started making noises, beeps at irregular intervals almost like a handshake but.... well I don't really know how to describe it. I guess it was chunkier.
Had more beepy noises and a little less chattery noises. Ive had this laptop for 3 years and I've never heard it "talk" like that before. Any thoughts?

Totally UN-techie Harmony

Get rid of your laptop. How full is your hard drive? Does your CD-drive have problems? Are you messing with external drives or ethernet wires?

Maybe NASA is looking for signs of alien life right here within this website.
I will save them the trouble. I'm not an alien and they don't need to scan my pc. Hmmm, maybe I should write an article on my pc on how to fix NASA and maybe they would see it.

A little bit more serious though, I thought I heard some funny noises coming from my pc every once in a while too but I'm afraid it may mean something such as a hard drive may be on the verge of crashing. Unless it's just annoying hackers.

Unplug your speakers and set sound to zero. If it really IS a genuine computer sound (not something played on an audio file), then let me know.

at the time all these beeps were taking place - what open programs did you have? did you have programs in the background? what were you doing at the time?

I can suggest a number of causes:

1. Someone is playing a prank on you.
2. Someone is playing a prank, although generally directed, not at you specifically. Maybe its a virus.
3. Something wrong with your peer guardian.
4. If you are trying to get behind NASA's firewall, they're just coming right back at you.

Absolutely correct. Nothing to worry about.

I was on ATS and checking out Black Labyrinth. Nothing else really. Also since then I've noticed that my e-mail is acting up. Like I used to get 10-20 ads a day. Now 2. I used o get Earthquake notifications all day. Haven't gotten one since that happened but we've had eqs. I checked. Other mail seems to come delayed most of the time.

Not messing with anything mechanical that is.
Just investigating some theories.

It is not an audio file.
CD drive used to have issues but the guy who checked it out for me said there were too many programs loading at the same time when I put a CD in. He deleted stuff and now it seems ok but I dont think I've used it much since the handshaking and beeping started.

I wish I knew my biological father. He works for NASA.

Why get rid of my laptop????

1st of all, why get rid of your laptop? Because it's obvious you have serious serious unfixable hard drive failures if you're getting those sounds.

So then you swap it out with a new hard drive.

It sounds to me like u have virus, torzans and worms on your drive.

Download and install:

Spybot-search and distroy 1.3
Adaware Se paesonal edition
Pest patrol (from cnet) it is a full version but willnot delete what it finds. BFD-it will show you full path to problems-track them down and delete them

update all three od these programs and run each several times. I have seen some problems not seen until others are removed.

Best of luck with your issues.
f you would like/need more technicial help-please feel free to u2u me.

Thats not a NASA IP. Just put it in your browser. It's from some gay ass site that plays music...

Edit: Just read the edit. So what the IP you posted? U2U me an IP though please... Interesting stuff...

You are not getting scanned. The reason for the "connection attempts" is your computer requesting image urls from their servers. You connect to them, so they attempt to connect to you.

so what you are saying then is that when i connct to this site , i am actually connecting to NASA? are there image urls from nasa servers here? I am confused, the connection attempts only happen when I enter this website, nowhere else, and wanna know something even funnier, when i go to NASA's official website where there are tonnes of nasa image urls, guess what.....yep no connection attempts, so how you explain that?

also when i put in the ip in a browser i get this

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Apache/1.3.27 Server at www-radar.jpl.nasa.gov Port 80

Well what are we meant to be able to do without IP's?
NASA won't be scanning you, what would be the point?
