As I've stated in other threads, If he were alive today, JFK would be considered a neocon. Since then, Democrat and Republican ideology have been slowly coming together, and as of 2008 have become indistinguishable from one another, and I would go a step further and say indistinguishable from Socialism. And this phenomenon is here to stay.

In many respects we've become what the Soviet Union was 50 years ago, and there's more to come. Soviet citizens had the right to vote also, but for only one party. I would suggest that people read up on life in the old Soviet Union if you want to see what life in America will be in 2016.

"Your absolutely delusional if you think either candidate for the President of the US is as bad as either Hitlr ot Georing. It's offensive actually. "

I was using a sense of drama, perhaps over the top, but do you REALLY believe either of those guys gives 2 rats A$$e$ about you or your concerns? If you seriously do, then the word delusional - that you used - might readily be applied to you. Hitler & Goering sound too rockin'? How about Madoff VS Abramoff?

It's a divide and conquer game LLBrother.. You seem incensed that I would dare say anything bad about either of these "gentlemen" at all, which gives me pause for concern! Both of these guys have been playing dirty for quite some time now, that's the uncomfortable truth in this "race." The even more uncomfortable & bigger truth is that it's all a dog & pony show, bread & circuses for the masses to give us the ILLUSION that we have choices in these things, WE DON'T, unless you are wealthy.

"My source for my claim that there's hundreds of things that separate them? Well Obamacare made thousands of changes, and Romney says he'd repeal it. So there you go. Romney also wants to cut taxes for the rich. The list goes on."

I also noticed that you failed to cite any sources. Again here, Romneycare was the model for Obamacare, so if Mittens gets in he'll change it alright, to something not too dissimilar.

"America doesn't deserve a (essentially) two party system, but, it has one. You want REAL change reform the party systems and the media in America. But c'mon, the candidates are CLEARLY different. And neither in anything as bad as Hitler."

Again, sorry for my panache, I have a black sense of humor, I think I was British in my last life. But you are right about one thing,.. This whole system needs re-thinking, I believe we could agree on that. I have ideas about this actually but that will have to wait until my post count & such allow me to make threads.

This 2 party system has been corrupted for years & it seems beyond broken imho. The foxes are guarding the hen houses.

LongLostBrother, I really mean you no harm, I'm just concerned you might be getting lulled into a false sense of security/safety. I apologize for my tactics are a bit salty at times.

But I honestly cannot believe we as Americans have had such horrible choices from both parties for YEARS! & I also can't believe we are putting up with it. But again, the media is controlled, so who can you write to anyway?

This is a conspiracy forum, not freerepublic or huffington post. You having seeming faith in this 2 party system or either of these candidates imho does seem a bit troubling. I don't want you to be P.O'd at your country but I don't want you to roll over with what they are dishing up. Okay?

1. Madoff vs. Abramoff, not a bad comparison, as the worst thing to happen to American politics is corporate influence, but even so, one party is much more "corporate personhood" and SuperPAC, etc., etc. More differences.

2. I think there's tonnes of bad things to say abut both as I'm a supporter of NEITHER. But I DON'T think there's ANY point in equivocating them. It's lazy and it's untrue that they are the same. Similar yes, the same, no. Meaningfully different? Yes! Will either be a great President? No!

3. Are you really wanting me to cite sources for the claim the Romney wants to end Obamacare? If you ACTUALLY don't know that then you're hardly in a position to declare they are "the same". Same goes for their tax policies. Use google and you'll see just how different they are. Under the Romney tax plan, Romney would pay less than 1% in taxes, and that's been widely reported, under the Obama plan his taxes would go up. Again, widely reported. AND another difference. As for Romneycare being the template. Yeah, I know I lived in MA under Romney. But his position is that it's a State's right issue. You need to learn more about these guys.

4. You say you agree with my statement that America doesn't deserve a two party system, then you claim I have faith in the two party system. Hmmm....? There's no point in just attacking me to attack me.

My positions are:

- Corporate influence is one of the biggest issues for America politics.
- The two-party system is a broken farce
- Neither candidate is wonderful, or even very good
- They are however different.
- Pretending they are the same is a cop out

Corporations have in some cases more than subtle influence; they are indeed policy makers. And if I can believe Stephen Colbert they are people, too.

Well, in the past they were a bit less blatant about it. Now, they're going overboard about being clones of each other.

I think this thread needs a bump!!!!

Why?

Because there are so MANY threads, that are playing the "blame game", playing into the polarization, without ANY meaningful discussion. In the End BOTH of these men ARE THE SAME. How anyone cant see this, is beyond me.

For those who want to argue this FACT, I respectfully give you exhibit A. Enjoy, as most of the Points, OP has given us, but its nice to actually see these doppelgangers in action.

Would love to hear from some diehard Obama/Romney supports debunk this.

Cheers!

I really couldn't agree more here. I lean toward Romney myself but I'll be honest on why. I hate Obama's 4 years of actual track record and Romney is something new. With renewal comes hope. I know by life experience, that hope will be ruthlessly crushed like a cockroach in a fine dining room by March or April next year, but hey...without a little hope now and then, life is dull. lol...

Aside from that almost childish side to my feelings here, I can't argue the fact that fundamentally, they are the same person. MOST of what Bush created and established is still very much in place or actually working at higher levels than when he lost the Office. Those same things will be running and with yet more power by 2016, no matter who wins this election.

So.. Yes, indeed.. We are looking at the same monster wearing 2 faces. One white, one black. One Liberal and one Conservative. They each talk a mighty fine game for how different they are but ACTIONS....ACTIONS...say we really aren't seeing different people at all. Not where it matters most and lives hang in the balance.

I think we have both noticed the insane amount of Anti- Romney threads, as of late. 2 per hour maybe? Some,by those who purportedly "know" both Candidates are of the same cloth. It amazes me of how "Partisan" people are getting, so close to elections. I call them hypocrites. Outright. How ANYONE can say Obama is a good President, and should be reelected, beats the hell out of me, regardless of how bad Romney really is.
