Scientists today released a groundbreaking 3D flythrough of the universe revealing massive galaxies and distant black holes

The largest map of its kind was created by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
www.sdss.org...

The map will eventually include new data from the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS), which will eventually measure the positions of 1.5 million massive galaxies over the past seven billion years of cosmic time, as well as 160,000 quasars—giant black holes actively feeding on stars and gas—from as long ago as 12 billion years in the past.

Awesome!
Reminds me of going to the planetarium back in the 80's.
I was high on life and maybe a little on other things... man, that was the best planetarium show I had ever seen!

What were we talking about?
Oh yeah, love the video!

Note to self: Go get more Cheetos

I would think videos like these would end war and all human conflict,,, to show humans how small they and their problems are,,, and how grand, and incredibly beautiful the greater reality they inhabit is....

That was awesome and inspiring.

The perspective of so many galaxies seen in such a way reminds me of how small we are.

S&F for sure !
