If you don't vote party line then you're a bad party member and probably a Republican-leaning independent. No shame in that like, but not a reliable vote.

Imagine a party uses all it's connections and media people (who they pay) and everything else, but you refuse to endorse the party's candidate for President. Repeatedly.

I would consider most of Paul's ideological positions to be compatible with the America I, and many of the Founding Fathers, believed in.

"American" is to a large degree in the eye of the beholder.
