Help me I have feelings for a gay friend

Let me start out by saying I have had enough of the relationship and had not dated in 4 years. I figured that that part of my life was over,I am a 43 year old female...Then is man started to pay me attention, do things with me....I had no idea he was gay.Everyone else seemed to know...He saved me the humiliation of trying to through myself at him, by mentioning it in light conversation with a mutual friend....Our friendship has not ending if anything it seems to be stronger.....I guess the fact that he is gay does not stop me from wanting him....I know I cann't have him...Should I end the friendship or allow it to run its course???

If you have a good solid friendship with this man; why give that up? He is not into you physically; but he (most likely) does value your friendship.

Lovers come and lovers go; but friends last a long time. I am hoping you have good communication with him; and a strong enough spirit to continue a relationship with him. Let go of the crush; and keep him as a friend.

I value your advise....Thank-you I do have to say the emotional burden of wanting to be with him physically...really gets to me...At times I feel he is picking up on that.

Friendship is always greater in any relationship, so is it important to you to have him as a friend? You already know the answer to other part so you need ask yourself do I want this person as a friend or not.

sorry to say if hes gay he probably doesnt feel the same

and your just setting yourself up for a big letdown

Sound advise....I want him as a friend, we have so much in common.....I guess that includes feelings for males

No one hear can tell you what to rightfully do, only you can. We are not involved in your life and most of all we are not you. So please do not make your decision based on what other people say.


I think you should continue because its LIFE, its experience and its drama. I do not fell alive when nothing is happening in my life so I welcome drama but do not invoke it. Life is a roller coaster, ups and downs. Its up to you to chose why you want to ride the roller coaster. Do want to fell the fear, the adrenaline, maybe you just love the felling.

Do yourself a favor and don't allow yourself to fall in love with him,trust me,it won't work!
Having him as a friend would be fine and could be long lasting.

Just go with the flow.
You never know what the future will bring.
If it's destined for love that's fine.
If it's destined for friendship then that's fine too.

Explore your feelings but don't let them cloud your judgement.
If you see that the love isn't being returned then stay friends.

I really am not sure....He'll ask very deep personal question( things you tell new lovers) We communicate daily..and see each other about 5 times a week...Mostly him popping up...
