Shmick, Neverfear... I agree with you, however, using logic with religious fanatics wont get you anywhere. These people believe that the world was created in 7 days, and that Noah managed to fit a pair of every animal onto a primitive ship.
Oh, and they are the same people who until recently, thought sickness was caused by demons, and that the universe revolved around the earth.

Well, what can I say, these fanatics are taking over the world, and this forum!

People belive the world was created in 7 days! How freaky!!! Animals being shoved onto a primitive ship.. you would have to be a fool to believe that!

Crap.. I guess that makes me a fanatic.. Just as long as I have a fanatical anti fanatic to back me up, I guess this will balance themselves out...

I cant understand why people believe in Rapture, and that christians will be removed from earth before the tribulation. Where does it say this in the Bible?

What would the point of being taking to heaven, then being bought back down just to be taken back up again at the second comming? Doesnt seem logical to me.

I wouldnt be holding my breath for this so called rapture to happen.

Show me the Bible verses!

Go to the post called, The Rapture, Will It Happen and you'll find my verse references stating a pre-tribulation rapture.

What's fanatical about a God who promised He would never leave us or forsake us. I think tribulation talk scares people because they don't know what's coming and aren't prepared for it, which doesn't need to be the csae.

Oh yeah, one other thing, "true Christians" will go through the tribulation just like the Bible says. Who ever told you they will not lied to you! Might I suggest you get a Bible and read it for yourself!

I totally disagree!

As long as people look at religious texts as being ' the irrefutable word of God', then no progress can be made.
You don't have to look very hard to see that these texts have been fiddled with, many times, to suit the religious & political purposes of the power-mongers through history.
I'm not particularly pointing the finger at Christians, because I believe there is much factual, and cryptically allegorical information to be gleaned from the Bible.
There are also many other ancient religious texts with valid information, and in recent times, much archeological evidence which has come to light, free of suppression.
It may be easy to 'pick a religion' from the many on offer, but God itself gave us free will and an enquiring mind, so it would be disrespectful not to use them.
It would be foolish to think that all of the 57+ alien races observing our predicament, are hanging around purely for entertainment purposes.
I believe it indicates that we are special, and that if we don't stop all this childish nonsense and get serious, we will never realise our specialness.

Okay, it's October 12th. Do you know where your various religious texts are?

We really need to have a "hysterics corner" where we post links to failed predictions so that the next time someone's tempted to believe these apocalyptic loons they might read, research, and then go away reassured.

We'll still be here on Thursday. I've got a midterm due next Monday and it's a safe bet that it won't be interrupted by various deities coming out of the sky to sweep their followers off (anthropologists are probably exempt from this, anyway...)

From Dean H. Hamer's book, "The God Gene": The overwhelming majority of Americans believe in God, expressing a conviction that has existed since the beginning of recorded time and is shared by billions around the world. In The God Gene, Dr. Dean Hamer reveals that this inclination toward religious faith is no accident; it is in good measure due to our genes. In fact, he argues, spiritual belief may offer an evolutionary advantage by providing humans with a sense of purpose and the courage and will to overcome hardship and loss. And, as a growing body of evidence suggests, belief also increases our chances of reproductive survival by helping to reduce stress, prevent disease, and extend life.

www.randomhouse.com...

Maybe it's because of this? Do some have it and some not? Has anyone read this book? Coming from the guy that found the supposed "gay gene", not sure I buy into it. Any thoughts?

OK, the fatima "secrets" are crap, this Pope is evil, hence the "crooked" cross he caries. There will only be one more Pope anyway. Number 111 per the List by Malici. Yes 2012 does appear to be TEOT. Tribulation starts 3-1/2 years before. Rem: 3-1/2 years of peace. Kerry could be the beast??? Or GW. I ain't that smart. Prediction for the future "corner" Kerry wins in Nov. Trib starts Jan 20th 2005.

I have thought that exact same thing before! There is always someone predicting the end of the world or the beginning of the end

The fact of the matter is there will be no rapture. It's a cult you belong to if you believe in the rapture. Coming out of a cult is very hard to do and it carries baggage for many years after you come to the knowledge of the truth. There is no such thing as being able to agree to disagree! One of is right and one of us is wrong so get over it and repent while you still can.

Guess what else. There are no "aliens". Do you really think that God would allow such decadence as the Human race to infect His Universe? Not hardly! This Planet is under quarantine. The only "aliens" here are quarantined here, otherwise known as demons.

I guess I should have said this on one of my other posts. I am not agreeing with the statement that the Trib. will start on the 13th. It could, but my point is the rapture of the church must happen first. That will be a clear indication to those around that the the tribulation can begin or have a period of time between the 2 events. Even after the rapture, hell doesn't have to be the destination for those left.

I have and do read the Bible. What from the Bible, leads you to believe that christians will go through the tribulation? I hope to have a civil discussion about this.

Besides that Mary is dead. Dead people do not talk or walk or appear anywhere, they're dead!

I 100% agree with this. I am not catholic and so visions of Mary or prophecies from Mary are lies and not Biblical.

We are taken up and return with Christ when He returns for the millennium. We aren't taken up and down and taken up again.

Communism and an all-out war with Russia, middle east possibly siding with them, was supposed to be our future. But due to the fact that some knew what was going to happen, and they managed to change it to some extent, the third prophecy never occured.

.....If i remember correctly....according to one of the messages (i am remembering this from memory) by the Lady of Fatima, Russia had to be consecrated to her, if not it would fall again under communism and tribulation would come mostly by the hand of Russia. The pope was supposed to make the announcement, if this didn't happen the third secret would become true. The pope has never made this anouncement.

I can't remember if it was Cayce or Nostradamus, but in one of their prophecies they wrote exactly about this, and about the deceit that Russia would play upon the world, with the help of some important figure form the middle east, making everyone believe communism was dead, and for all intent and purposes it would appear to have done so.

I have also posted evidence from several sources that there has been a plan by the U.S.S.R...errr Russia, and the help of other nations some communist some truly socialist... to do exactly this, and attack the west when we least expect it. In this plan they even mention using terrorism to attack the US.

In a personal note, althou I am not trully a religious person, i have my own views on all of this. Everyone has their own opinion and that is fine, but it is my belief, actually my conviction, that the message of fatima is mostly true....every person can choose whatever they want to believe.

If you want to believe we are just matter and will decay when our bodies decay...that is your choice...

If you think that human emotions and thoughts come only from carnal desires and they are just physical impulses...that is your choice too.

IMHO, there is more to us and the universe than just matter....and "normally" everyone has spiritual experiences according to what they believe, but this does not prove the spiritual does not exist. It just takes whatever form the person recieving the message will believe the most....once again, this is just my opinion.

I do not think the world will end...but a lot of things are happening and more and worse is to come.

If you don't want to believe the signs that are appearing everywhere about what is to come, that is just fine. I really do hope that I am wrong thou.

Byrd, is this coming from the same person that kept saying some months back the Vedic scriptures did not exist? or that none of the Hindu texts mention atomic wars or vimanas among other things?.....Didn't I show you directly from these texts that you were wrong?.....

I am not sure, but I don't think anything spectacular will hapen on the 13th of this month. In that i do agree with you. But doesn't every age have an end? and haven't some of these ages that have ended in the past been pretty...apocalyptic?

Byrd, this topic is more spiritual than physical, althou it does have an impact on the physical world, if you do not believe there is more to us and everything around you than what you see, there isn't much for you to discuss about this topic, because you will not believe any of these messages even after they happen.

Can anybody answer my question?
How do these children know that they were talking to the Virgin Mary, since nobody in the world knows what she looked like?

If you believe what she says then you are being deceived!!!

Do you really believe that she has been sent from God? What importance did Mary have in the Bible? She was the Mother of Jesus correct. But she was also human, not without sin! This means that she was like anybody else. How come she has taken on the role of being greater than Christ all of a sudden? From my memory of the new testiment, there is no talk about Mary once Christ went back up to heaven. The organisation that placed a great emphasis upon this female deity was the RCC and then according to some historians it was a substitution for pagan egyptian female/child deity worship.

So I ask the question again, why would you believe anything this lady said?

Jesus was also according to history a man, he had doubts and asked his father for forgiveness for doubting what was supposed to happen...that he had to be killed. He was a man more in contact with what people call God but still had the weakness of any man, at the end he found strength but that doesn't take away that he did doubt as almost any man/woman would.

Also as i said, i was mentioning this by memory, so the way the message was truly conveyed could have been a little bit different than what i posted.

To anwser your question, I believe the spiritual is more than just what is written in the bible, i believe as i said that the spiritual world shows itself to give a message in the form that those they are given the message to would believe the most.
