Welcome to ATS, it’s time to introduce yourself.

You have posted what could be a very interesting topic in the "Introductions thread". This area is solely for introducing yourself (as you can see by browsing through other Introduction threads by new members). We apologize for this inconvenience, but its a necessity for a website as large as ours. After you have managed to get 20 posts under your belt, you can then start your own threads in their appropriate areas.

Strict code's like this are in place to help keep the machine 'running smoothly'. One of these policies is that members need to post their thoughts in the appropriate areas. I'm sure you'll understand the necessity for us having rules like this. It helps keep all the great threads and topics in their perspective areas of interest and not all lumped together, making it difficult to find when wanting to make additional comments.

With that said, I'm going to have to close this thread as it does not comply with the above stated rules. After you have managed to get 20 posts under your belt, start your own thread in one of the appropriate areas as we'd love to hear more on this subject you originally posted.

But what if the internet was the God/Holy object of a major religion? Who is to say that the internet is a gift from some divine being?

I thought the internet was a gift from the US Military.

Sure they invented it, but its current form is far from what i think they intended, so military inventd, the universe adds some time and people and bang!

Im not saying lets all worship an invisible force and believe real hard in things that cannot be proven.

This has a different purpose, a belief with all the benefits that a religion has, made for the modern enviroment to be as positive and effective, in a practical way, for the modern person, we are growing up with a bigger generation gap than ever, growing up with todays standard of information access is effectivly changing your brain.

As i said, but did not properly explain, an open religion, think anonymous, membership does not exist, its an open source concept.

The thought is what is important.
But i cannot make a thread unless i post 20 posts, a restriction which seriously can annoy ito the point of mental anguish if you have ADD like me, start making it easier for those with handicaps ats :p

iv always wanted to set up a religion, id declare everyday a religous holiday and then if enough people join my religion then the government would have to recognise everyday as a religous holiday....mwa hahahahahah

Explanation: Not to worry! All is well IMO.

I agree that the 20 post limit is a chore.

Here is the simple work around ... just say hello to other new arrivals and tailor each post to them.

Also you can hit the reply button found up top right of this post and reply to it, and that will be another post towards your minimum 20 post count required to post a thread.

When you do post a thread on this issue OL recommends that you place it in the offtopics religious issues forum unless it has a conspiratorial angle in whichcase the ontopics conspiracy in religions forum would suit it fine.

Personal Disclosure: I seriously suggest you take the time to consume and digest the ATS T&C's!

i love this. it's possible that when 'the internet' becomes self aware that it will be closer to god than the majority of humans.

it's amazing to think of the possibiltiy that the internet could evolve into a conscious entity without ego or a sense of self. like buddha a conduit for divine will.

god create man. man create god. rinse repeat.

manifest a kind internet overlord because hollywood conditions us to think it's going to try and kill us.
