Holy Jetsons Batman the new careers section for the new millennia is finally open - wonder who came up with this title?
SED Systems is advertising for one Spacecraft Operator (how craftily titled lol)

Employer Name: SED Systems Inc
Posted Date: 27-Jun-2012

# of Positions: 1
Employment Terms: Full Time
Apply By: 15-Jul-2012
How to Apply?: Please apply via the careers section of our website or by mail.

SED Systems specializes in developing complex hardware and software systems for cable, telecommunication, satellite communications, and defense applications.

The expertise and capabilities developed over more than 45 years in the industry are being applied successfully today to meet the new challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
The company enjoys an international reputation for excellence and delivers systems to customers worldwide. SED operates out of a custom-built facility in a beautiful research and development park adjacent to the U of S campus. SED employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, competitive salary, a company paid pension plan, an employee stock purchase plan, and free access to a fitness facility.

SED Systems has the requirement for a Spacecraft Operator for the RADARSAT EArth Station facility located in Saskatoon. The Operator performs satellite tracking operations, routine and corrective maintenance of the 10 meter antenna and station equipment, along with other manufacturing related activities.

Preferred applicants will be a graduate of a 1-year Electronics Technician or a 2-year Electronics Engineering Technology program. Previous experience with RF systems or satellite communications systems and operations is an asset. The appropriate candidate will be able to work in an independent environment with little supervision as well as in a team environment. Shift work is required.

The ability to obtain a Secret security clearance and meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program is mandatory.

We wish to thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

I would bet most locals don't know there's one of them spacecraft operations in the city.
Bet most locals didn't know there's a very successful drone manufacturing plant here as well. Won business awards, not many know who they are: Industrial Aerial Video Systems & UAVs

Interesting work they've done!

Lockheed Martin set to build on 1st Nations land outside the city.

For any aerial-related fans out there. And potential Spacecraft Operators.

These are DRONES... and you are handing out Kudos? Really?

I'm Canadian and I am ashamed...not excited, interested or even proud.

Oh I wasn't giving anyone kudos - just presenting the picture for the reader to piece together - I thought it was rather obvious, this being the site it is...
