Report: FBI Investigates More Than 100 Suspected Islamic Extremists Within U.S. Military

www.theblaze.com

More than 100 investigations into suspected Islamic extremists within the military have been carried out by the FBI, including 12 cases considered serious, NPR is reporting. Investigators believe the main target to be military bases. NPR reports:

Officials define that [a serious case] as a case requiring a formal investigation to gather information against suspects who appear to have demonstrated a strong intent to attack military targets. This is the first time the figures have been publicly disclosed.

The FBI and Department of Defense call these cases “insider threats.” Th

This is quite the interesting development when you consider how delicately the Ft. Hood Shooter, Nidal Hasan, was handled. He alone killed 13 people in his mind bending rage. 3 years later and he is still facing charges and the PTB are still arguing over what to call his attack. Either "workplace violence" or "domestic terror attack". Look for his court martial this coming August.

Let's hope that they can get to the bottom of this before any other attacks occur. There were at least 3 attack plots that were thwarted last year alone.

We'll probably hear from Holder soon. "Leave 'em alone, don't touch 'em...they're potential voters...give 'em work visas"

I often wonder what if one of the extremists set off one of our own nukes. The ultimate suicide bomber. At sea they could take out most of our navy all at once. On land they could take out any number if cities. Or just set one off while still in the launch silo. Now I know setting off a nuke is not like flipping a switch but those people are not dumb and in fact in such a case we would have been the ones to train them on just how to do it.
While this is on the edge of possibly it still is not impossible.

I suppose the FBI would know how many Islamic extremists are in this country since they are
the ones creating them. Can they even keep track?

Do you know how difficult it is to set one off? No one person can do it. You'd have to find the right codes (that are kept VERY secure), get access to the nukes, and two people are required to input the code in two separate units that are set apart from each other to where no one person can do it.

It would be interesting to see the criteria they use to decide who is a genuine threat and who is simply voicing critical thought or political opinion.

Remember folks, this is a country where you can be put on a watch list for daring to speak about the potential dangers of the USA becoming a police state.

It's very likely that the majority of those being "investigated" have done nothing more than say the invasion of Iraq was unjust, or that the military industrial complex is the problem. Does anyone really think a person would be able to express a critical opinion like that in the US military without being subject to investigation?

Just ask this soldier

Marine Sgt. Gary Stein first started a Facebook page called Armed Forces Tea Party Patriots to encourage service members to exercise their free speech rights. Then he declared that he wouldn’t follow orders from the commander in chief, President Barack Obama.

While Stein softened his statement to say he wouldn’t follow “unlawful orders,” military observers say he may have gone too far.

The Marine Corps is now looking into whether he violated the military’s rules prohibiting political statements by those in uniform and broke its guidelines on what troops can and cannot say on social media. Stein said his views are constitutionally protected.

Forget codes and forget keys. Physical access is the key. I am sure that if the right person got some hands on time they could hot wire it. Keeping them under lock and armed guards is the real thing stopping them. We can only hope the ones doing the guarding are not the ones with the wire strippers.

He is practically flaunting it in our face, everyday new revelations are revealed, yet he still gets a pass.

What's it going to take for the cowards in congress to speak up?

Notice the "fear ramp up" that seems to be the "news" trend?

Notice the shift to focus on the Muslim Brotherhood abroad, and now the implication of a local "Al Qaida" operating within the framework of the military?

Notice all this... and remember.... it is an election coming up... and the dirt is flying....

The orchestrators of the show to which we are treated have recently forgiven themselves for the necessity of propaganda....

Wonder why?

Don't wonder.... here it comes.... along with the clowns.... "don't bother they're here."

First off, no one person is getting access to a nuclear weapon. There is a two person rule for even going near where they are stored. Any one person going near them is stopped and ordered to leave the area. Secondly, a nuclear weapon is designed to NOT explode, except under certain conditions.

As for setting it off at sea, if a nuclear weapon went off onboard a carrier, it would take out the carrier, and damage SOME of the battle group. They don't sail together really closely. It certainly wouldn't decimate the navy.

If you aren't trained on nukes, then the odds of you knowing how to hot wire it are very slim. The designs aren't out there for people to know, and anyone that doesn't need to be trained isn't.

All I can say is I hope you are right and I am wrong.
Sometimes I hate being right and this is one time I would really really hate to be right.

What makes you think they are not American citizens and therefore don't require a work permit? Does their religion mean they can't be American?

None of this is anything new, many suspect we have been infiltrated the highest levels.

Oh wait, suspect nothing, I am positive.

Oh well, in that case Holder will probably reassign them to "poll intimidating", oops, I mean "poll watching".
