A bag of waste - intended to simulate the weight of a human body - plunges 240 feet into a lake of lava in Ethiopia

I thought it would just burn away but it makes the volcano pretty mad.

Why don't you try it out. I pretty much doubt it would do much, maybe just a little tiny bubble rises to the top of the lava.... then *pop*, last breath of air from the person.

It would NOT cause a huge super deadly volcano... just sucks for the family.
Remember...
There are well over 1 billion ways to die.

Honestly I think all it did was break the crust which then allowed for the lava to have a release point. I don't think it had anything to do with what was actually being thrown in just the hole that was created.

I would think you die

but wouldn't that be a neat way to get rid
of rubbish instead of throwing in the ocean or landfill

In Hawaii they use gin as an offering to Pele.
Seems to work better than trash.

I saw this earlier today but the youtube video was under the tagline
What happens if a Human falls into a volcano
So when i watched the video and saw that it was a bag of trash
I was a little bit disappointed
The steam produced from the burning food really fires it up though

Here is what happens when a person falls into a volcano:

Someone fell into Mt. St. Helens while taking a picture, and he was not able to be rescued. He was an experienced climber, but it did not end well. Be careful while standing near the edge...

Navy Helicopter Recovers body from Mt. St. Helens

Bohlig reached the summit with his friend Scott Salkovics after a four-hour hike. Bohlig took off his backpack and a layer of clothing then decided to pose for pictures.

Salkovics told KGW that Bohlig handed a camera to another hiker and was backing up when the snow gave way and he fell. The hiker threw himself toward Bohlig but couldn't catch him.

Mt. St. Helens is still active, and at the top the sulphur smell is really bad. I did not stay up there very long, and of course I did not get anywhere near the edge.

However, I think this person died because the snow that day made it very difficult to rescue him.

Let me know if I can help answer any more questions.

Whatever you do, DO NOT take anything from the volcano home with you. Not even a strand of Pele's Hair. It makes her angry when you do. The national park at Kilauea receives tons of rocks and other items that people took with them from the volcano, and stories of terrible luck they had after they got home.
