In a statement which is sure to raise questions about the how much planning the Bush Administration put in before the Iraq war for coping with it's aftermath, Paul Bremer ,The former U.S. civilian administrator in Iraq said on Monday ,"We paid a big price for not stopping it [the looting] because it established an atmosphere of lawlessness," Bremer said. "We never had enough troops on the ground."

The former U.S. civilian administrator in Iraq says the United States "paid a big price" for not having enough troops on the ground after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein's regime.

L. Paul Bremer, speaking Monday at the opening session of the 91st annual Insurance Leadership Forum in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, said "horrid" looting was occurring when he arrived in Baghdad on May 6, 2003.

One assumes that as troop numbers have significantly decreased since the end of the war that there are still not enough troops on the ground even while the situation in Iraq deteriorates.Fewer troops in an increasingly more dangerous place and there weren't enough to begin with according to Bremer, the man in charge.

scurrying like rats ! They're all in the CYA Mode!

Human behavior suggests they are saving their own skins first...

THERE IS A SOUND REASON FOR ALL THIS BAILING OUT, DIS-ASSOCIATION FROM BUSH...AND I DONT THINK ITS KERRYS' POLITICAL STUMPING!

The timing of this all does seem a bit strange. Why would folks start turning on GWB right before the election?

I remember reading an article which contended that GWB was to be brought up on impeachment charges and had hired a criminal attorney. The article contended that Tenet left the CIA so he could have free reign to testify however he liked since he would no longer be a member of the government.

I wonder if this is all related...

Why now Powell, Rumsfield, Bremer all crying out?

Because of feeling the heat of Iraqi Resistance now?

Even KIA rate of about 3 per day according Centcom official account, 140, 000 Troops in Iraq can stay there for 46667 days, or 127 years. That KIA rate is remarkable for some many troops facing the hostile 22 million Iraqi people. No big deal.

Why all the Panic now? Were they not telling the truth?

And the official White House response?!

The White House refused to say Tuesday whether the top U.S. civilian official in Iraq after Saddam Hussein's ouster had asked the president for more troops to deal with the rapid descent of postwar Iraq into chaos.
