Haiti's Senate President and two other politicians have been arrested in connections with the brutal murders of 3 policemen during the recent troubles on the island. All three prisoners are supporters of former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide. The men are calling there arrests 'unjust and illegal' and are currently being detained in a secure location. In other related news, the General in charge of the Peacekeepers on Haiti are calling in more personell as the 3'000 strong force is weakening due to exhaustion.
Violent clashes involving supporters of the ousted president have taken place in Haiti's capital Port-au-Prince over the past three days.

The politicians had just taken part in a show in which they exchanged views with Aristide opponents, allegedly to call for a peaceful solution to the outbreak of violence.

Senate President Yvon Fuille said his arrest was illegal because it violated his immunity.

Haiti is havin a very rough time of it the now. First of all the Earthquake, then the riots and near civil war in the country amid obvious goverment politics and now the hurricane which has caused so much damage and destruction..its enraged the people that the goverment has done so little.

Th peacekeepers will be having a very rough time of it, working 24/7 in those conditions is very hard going mentally and physically, the exhaustion is tremendus.

Hopefully the rioters and civilians who are organising these riots etc, will come to an agreement for a talk to organise justice hearings from an outside source and to calm things down. All they are achieving at the moment is a climbing death toll and i dont really think they want that.
