Hi ATS,

Can anyone identify what is peculiar about the image below from Dr Mark Lehner's The Complete Pyramids, p.83? Ten kudos points to the first person to identify it.

Good luck.

Best wishes,

Scott Creighton

If the map is supposed to be orientated with north at the top, then the left-pointing arrow markd "500m east" is wrongly labelled.

I was thinking the same thing...but if you look at the geography and locations of the pyramids, the map is oriented with north down, so east pointing to the left is right.

Also...how much bread will 10 kudos points buy?

Map is labeled upside down (top of the map is south)

While somewhat agreeing with the above posters on the positioning of the map, I am seeing a problem with meters/miles conversions.

Km and Miles are reversed on the Key.
Second line.

A mile is 1.6 km. The scale is right.

No. 1 km = 5/8 mile. So that's not it. But I don't have enough knowledge on the subject to find anything else, even it were glaringly obvious....

Can you say why you think it is a "deliberate" error without making it too obious??

Worth a try asking..

But, look at the map.

500m east to Main Memphis

Then on key:

1 mile to Main Memphis ruin field

500m = .31 miles

So the map and the key are contradictory?

Error? I don't know.

The Main Memphis ruin field is 500 m off the side of the map. On the insert, the side of the map runs just to the right of where it shows the "Pyramid age Nile." The distance from this line to the edge of the Main Memphis ruin field is about half a km according to the scale, which, of course, is 500 m.

The only thing I can see wrong with that is it should say "Pyramid-age Nile," not "Pyramid age Nile"...the first two words are a single adjective modifying the noun "Nile," so they should be hyphenated. But that's just me being picky, and it's not anything significant.

Also, the orientations and locations of the Saqqara and Abusir pyramids are correct, given the fact that north is down.

ETA: as are the pyramids in the South Saqqara at top.

But look at the distance between the lake and the Memphis ruins...the key would make you believe that it is a mile; the map would make you believe that it's essentially a 1/3 a mile.

Other than that, the map is missing Alien and/or Atlantis markers.

The map isn't giving the distance between the lake and the ruins, it's giving the distance between the edge of the map and the ruins...which is 1/3 of a mile or 500 m on both.

so.... it's upside down, they left a little black dot off on the zoom-out and they're not showing crop circles. Do I get 30 for puting them all together in one post?

Gawd I need better glasses. The water at the bottom, does it say 'Abusive Lake"? Can't help it, I'm blind I tell ya!

Hmm...the insert has the Pyramid-age Nile going straight to the south (up), but the map shows it heading to the west (right) as it goes south....

No, all the labels are right side up. You just have a prejudice which tells you north is up. There's no particular reason it should be. But don't worry about it...you're not alone.
