Sources tell that about 200 tanks gathered near the border..do you know if Israel is preparing for a full-scale attack on Gaza zone??

About 2,000 soldiers in hundreds of armored vehicles were patrolling a five-mile stretch of northern�Gaza (search)�to counter militants firing homemade rockets into Israel. The Israeli offensive, "Days of Penitence," was launched after a Hamas rocket killed two Israeli preschoolers in a town near Gaza on Wednesday.

The Israeli offensive follows a Hamas rocket attack that killed two small children in the Israeli town of Sderot. Israel radio quoted Mr Sharon as telling his cabinet: "What can we do? The Jews, too, have a right to live. If this entails difficulties for the Palestinians, that is part of the price."

Hundreds of soldiers backed by about 200 tanks, armoured vehicles and helicopters reoccupied the towns of Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanoun and took control of a 9km-wide area along the border.

Most other news stories say it's 100 tanks not 200.
