It will come and go as any other day im sure, the 21st of december is the date of the great planetary alignment that will set the wheels in motion to bring about the change that everyone is waiting, hoping for.
No one person knows what will happen when the sun lines up with our center, my guess is three days of darkness from the 22nd of december.
Maybe thats why the elite have their bunkers, imagine what would happen if the sun didnt come up tomorrow? Poeple would panic! Panic on a large scale is pretty scary. Now imagine three days of panic!
Regardless what anyone may believe will or will not happen the Maya were drawing attention toward the stars, and for good reason.

Personally, I don't think it's the "end of the world". Not sure who attached the term doomsday to it. But I think it may be the beginning of the end (By end, I mean the end as we know it... ie. our comfortable lives... and perhaps we deserve it)
