Mmmm... just had to add that dinos weren't as slow and stupid as once thought and brain cases were sloppily measured in some cases.

New thinking postulates some may have been as quick witted as some dogs. They were successfull buggers.

That doesn't mean they had tools and infrastructure, though. Teeth worked well enough.

And if (when) the asteroid took them out, there would still be pockets of micro-climates where life held on, thus every living thing we see today.

And of course there's that maybe mini saurapod in the Congo...

Oh and despite your sideways thinking, which is good, fingernails and hair DON'T grow after death... it's just our formerly pliant skin turning to mush and constricting/ shrinking... leaving the morbid observer with the illusion of hair/nail growth.

Just another tidbit from my crawlspace...er, books. Put emoticon here that most comforts you.
