Why when didn't the salesman in the gun shop mention that to me (as I recently bought a lockable carrying case)? Perhaps they are not readily available everywhere or are too expensive.

Actually, the bioscan (thumb print) locks have really come down, and are pretty affordable these days.
For me, I have long guns too though, so a small safe isn't going to cut it.

If you dont want to spend the money on a gun safe, then at least buy Trigger locks when children are around. It locks the trigger, so there is NO way it can be pulled, and put them out of sight. Out of sight, out of minds, for little children

If the tshtf time ever arrives and we are forced to be on the move, I will have my loaded gun on my person; ready, willing and able. Otherwise, it will be unlocked, loaded and within quick reach.
