The local governments (not federal) should ensure the citizens donot starve or forced to eat mold food from the dumpster..

Instead the federal government doesen't do this, but it still sends aid to hopeless nations where it ends up in the hands of the local overlords.

The US is not obligated to do such a thing, althought it has an annual budget for foreign aid(approximately $10 Billion in humanatarian assistance in 2004). We should care about the US first (if you are a US citizen) before other countries. The US is reasearching on enhancing food output with genetic engineering, which plays a major role in the ever increasing world population. Stop complaing about if the US does not send out money, we should stop sending money even to our own as welfare because it makes them lazy.

But would the USA seriously allow people around the world to starve, especially when such a good initiative is available and so many other countries are endorsing it? If so, what justification could possibly be excepted to allow this to happen?

I'm sorry but it's not the government who helps feed people, people help people survive... My mother funded two families, helped clothe them, feed them, and get on their feet... You can't always be blaming the government, if it's such a concern to you, why don't you get off your ass and start donating hmmm????

That has nothing to do with my socialist ideals.

I don't call for "equalization of wages" or idiotic propaganda usually spread by the ultra-rich ruling class to stop any type of socialist thinking. In what true socialist country today do you see wage equalization?

Private donation charities still only help a very small percentage of the less fortunate. I always have called for social systems funded at the local level by local/community governments.

The federal government lacks the ability or the organization to provide a universal healthcare system or such programs. Currently, the welfare system is an overbloated and ineffective federal program.

The amount of resources wasted in this country (USA) daily could easily be used to ensure everyone could live some decent standard of living. Nobody should be forced to eat out of a dumpster or suffer of easily curable medical problems due to lack of wealth.

People always assume that when they see someone eating out of a dumpster that the person is either lazy or just not willing to work. I doubt that the common man would choose to live a life on the street eating out of dumpsters.. I am sure these people would of done everything they could of to try to better themselves if they were capable of doing so. I don't think someone should have to suffer because of things like lack of intelligence, lack of opportunities, disabilities... things beyond our current control. Especially when there is more than enough surplus resources produced in one country.
