Iran's banks to be blocked from global banking system

Swift, the body that handles global banking transactions, says it will cut Iran's banks out of the system on Saturday to enforce sanctions.

The move will isolate Iran financially by making it almost impossible for money to flow in and out of the country via official banking channels.

China and India have said they will still take Iranian oil, but the only obvious way for Iran to be paid for it is now in gold.

Economic warfare!
That's what this is

Iran can definately still survive this, the people can will be able to live in a somewhat forced protectionist nation relying heavily on local businesses and farmers.

They can thrive well with such a model even.

But it will be forced isolationism & it will mostly hit military budget more than anything.

People can continue to eat and provide for their families but the military will suffer the most under this scenario.

This is wrong though and incredibly unfair.

So now is Iran going to end up with all the Gold? If so don't expect a war any time soon. It would be more advantagous to let them accumulate a bunch of gold and then declare war and steal it from them. It is easier to transport gold than it is oil.
