Obama Lies -- This Has To Stop (Medical Care)

Another example of "I told you so"...

Medical costs for enrollees in the health-care law’s high-risk insurance pools are expected to more than double initial predictions, the Obama administration said Thursday in a report on the new program.

Those who have enrolled in the program are projected to have significantly higher medical costs than the government initially expected. Each participant is expected to average $28,994 in medical costs in 2012, according to the report, more than double what government-contracted actuaries predicted in November 2010. Then, the analysts expected that the program would cost $13,026 per enrollee.

Remember this? One of the hallmarks of Obamacare was that it would bring "major reductions" in medical care cost. A huge part of that projection was the $13,000 "estimate" for these high-risk patients.

Well, guess what -- it's more than double the estimate.

Why?

Simple: The Government lied.

They lied to get the law passed. They did not put up their "actuarial estimates" where anyone could see them, the methodology was not published, the data was not published, and none of it was part of the debate.

And now we find out that it was so far off that it could not have been a mistake -- it was an intentional fraud upon the public, shoved down our throats by Obama and Pelosi.

Here's the truth folks -- if one percent of the population is "high risk", that's 3 million people. If the cost per person is $30,000 a year then we're talking about $90 billion a year.

And that's if it's just one percent of the population.

Remember, the original design was for people who (1) were employed, (2) therefore could pay, but (3) had been turned down. When you look at the total panoply of uninsured, about 16% of the population, the odds are that we have at least one percent of the people in this category.

Simply put this is one trillion dollars over ten years, basically.

Which we do not have.

Which we cannot raise.

Which, incidentally, is almost one quarter of all Medicaid spending in 2010.

That's right -- a 25% increase for 1% of the population.

Yeah.

Basically, big surprise (NOT) what the government has promised cannot be done. Surprised??

Also another surprise... medicare is unsustainable, especially with Obamacare coming into law. The feds knew that and passed it anyway, lying to your face for political capital... that's why it didn't go live a few months after it was passed... because when it goes into effects, in 2014, and when it goes bankrupt, probably in 2015/2016, Obama will already have won the mid-terms of the second term.

It was all a political ploy... you got scammed... Believe or not, you shall see in 2014-2015... if the financial system makes it there.

" According to the Center for Defense Information, the estimated cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will reach $1.29 trillion by the end of fiscal year 2011"

Where oh where can we possibly find the money to help our own people through the worst times in their lives.

The war money is also borrowed. Stopping the wars doesn't equal 1 trillion in available spending. Please look at the big picture here people.

And if you stop borrowing that money, pay off the debt you owe, what happens to all that money?

This topic is NOT about the cost of the wars! Don't derail the OP's post.

Obama is going to destroy the military to partially fund Obamacare... Just a drop in the bucket. The rest will come from you and me.

That being said I have Obamacare legislation and all of its uncertainty to thank for my premium increasing by nearly $3000.00 last year. Neato!!

Don't sweat it man, we spent trillions on wars based on lies and we're still here. 'Least this money might actually help folks rather than simply making the rich white guys of the MIC even richer. 'Sides they'll just print up some money and all will be okay and the banks'll fractionalize more of the $4 dollars that only ever existed. No worries!

Well the cost of social programs Medicare,Medicaid, and Social Security run into the trillions the multi trillions which this country has spent more Dollars on that than any war more than anything else and as the cash pool shrinks as the promise made increase then add the increase cost of aging and Government meddling.

That has to stop None of those are sustainable which is why we have seen dramatic increases in the last decade.

The current system we have is robbing from peter to pay paul and we have run out of peters which iswhy the governemnt is canibalizing other government programs to feed their bad habits of habitaul stupidity.

The lies do indeed need to stop and the biggest lie is Social Security from where millions of people are paying for their Medicare which is 1 Government check/program paying for another Government program from the same source.

81 trillion dollars owed for medicare alone

This is a stop gap program that will be finished in 2014 - It covers people who could not get insurance and is most people who are over 45 though there is no age limit. In 2014 these go into a bigger pool.

It covers cancer and chemo and other long term diseases. The republicans in the debates have cheered the fact that if you can't get insurance you should die. Not the country I envision. The rest of the civilized world has worked this out. Are they really that much smarter than we are.

A less partisan view.
www.washingtonpost.com...

As far a lies go -- how come we have this incredibly expensive unfunded drug bill -- republicans how exactly was that supposed to work. They didn't underestimate the cost they just ignored the fact that it would cost anything.

I always wondered how someone who has a condition that makes an insurance company deny a policy can even afford a high priced policy.

If the person is unemployed and not eligible for medicare and has assets that make medicaid ineligible, HOW do they afford the policy ??

I though the insurance companies have always had plans for preexisting conditions anyway, as long as the patient could afford the payments ??

If the patient has a job and the employer has insurance, the preexisting factor usual isn't considered anyway.
