hi all

at the moment a program on channel 4 (uk)
its been running a couple of weeks now
a few minutes ago the young silly officer was bragging
"i love shooting its my adrenalin rush"
then proceeded to show of THE METS arsenal of weapons
honestly this is as close to the police as it gets
its bloody scary
not long ago you only seen armed police at the airport false bomb alerts
i never thought the guns would spread so quickly through the met
ive even seen interviews of officers that are very much against arming
anyway watching more now

I've heard the police in the UK are less militarized than their counterparts in the US, while we can speculate on whether or not Colonialism put the families who were more likely to be militant onto American soil away from British soil, we know the UK still has problems with corruption in its police force and an over-eager reliance on violence to solve the syndromes of their societies problems.

I suggest that the UK is following in the USA's footsteps in terms of upping the arms and leeway they give cops to use them.

i agree its turning that way
as im watching it now it stated that the armed responce unit are called out to 260 calls a year
then as the police are interviewed they said they have never fired a shot on the street
most of the calls are petty
