Now if you were missing DRUMS that would be news , but as we all know drummers are not noted for there cerebral
qualities , being a drummer myself , I have forgotten what this post is about

Cool, I've used pennies etc in the past, you get a nice effect from metallic objects, it's always fun to experiment.

The effect from using a coin is nice but it does damage the string really quickly and they tend to break after prologned use. Kinda like brian may, though - wouldn't cite him as an influence but he's undeniably a great guitarist.

Shoit ! Just given away tomorrows interesting fact of today !

I make my own picks out of mayo and peanut butter jar lids. My hands are slippery and I tend to have regular picks slip out so I make my pics slightly larger than regular ones. I cut the shape on the band saw, file the edges, file the flats to thin it down, and then I sand with 220 grit to clean up and thin more and follow with 600 wet sanding. I end up with picks that nobody else wants, but are perfect for me.

Maybe the ghost of Jimmy Hendrix is stealing your picks, but if you make one out of every mayo and peanut butter jar that you come across, you will soon have so many that if Jimmy takes one now and again you will still have plenty more without having to buy any.

You should research the pick preferences of famous dead guitarists to see which, if any, preferred your brand and size of pick.

This happens to me all the time.

I wonder if you have ever had the other phenomenon where a plectrum turns up suddenly that you have no recollection of ever buying or with a brand / logo on it that you have never even heard of?
The last time I picked my guitar up the only plectrum I could find was a tiny very thick tortoise shell one that I would have never bought in a million years

I think all of us need to invest in one of these
