MATH

There are only two super geniuses of science that I am aware of.
Lavoisier and Einstien. In both cases these men were blessed
the the rarest of occurrences. A lab assistant that they were
both deeply in love with and who were their wives. Back in
those days finding a woman with a love for science and a
knack for being a lab assistant, weather a chemistry lab
or a laboratory of the mind, was as common as finding
a supernova. And the great many of potential genius
died alone and unloved by any woman, as their wives
usually hated their work or were jealous of their time
spent in the lab. It was a different world back then.

I do find it interesting though, that here in the post
feminist world the story is being revised to suggest
that those men stole the work from their wives when for
hundreds of years one of the great laments of science has
been about how much genius has been lost because of the
rarity of finding a good husband and wife team.

And now that we have generations of empowered scientific women
capable of participating in just such a relationship the drum beat for
castigation of men in general is being whipped up to a louder and faster beat.

Disgusting if you ask me.

Sorry dude but Math isn't perfect and I don't see the connection with your title and your content of the thread.

The fourth corner, that's what it has to do with it.

I believe the only difference between a slave and self ownership
is the missing fourth corner of a block. As the conspiracy theorists
have suggested, we live under a pyramid system. A very unfair system.
Math is the missing corner. The fourth corner. So things are square and level.

One requires four things: work, food, math, and their religion.

I've had the Khan Academy bookmarked for a while now. I had not seen this video though. My son (who is on mid-tour leave from Afghanistan), my daughter and her roommate all just watched this. Wow. This man gives me hope for humanity.

I've always said that education is the key to peace. Just imagine for a moment...The Joint Chiefs of Staff are at one of their weekend retreats with family. A few generals and admirals start discussing the bombing of Tehran and a 12 year old grandchild of one of them overhears the discussion. She says, "Grandpa, the person who has been tutoring me on my math lives in Tehran, please don't kill my friend." Maybe I am too idealistic, but I just gotta believe it would make a person pause and think.

When we start to understand that we are ALL in this together, we will begin to work together to use our resources for the good of all of us. There are plenty of resources for us all, it is just grossly unevenly distributed.

My son says than Salman Khan should be awarded a Nobel Peace Prize. I can not think of anybody in recent history who is more deserving. I'm going to find out just how one goes about nominating somebody for a Nobel Prize.

Edit- I looked into how to nominate someone. One way is to have a former recipient make the nomination. So, I just sent this to the president-

I looked into how to nominate someone for a Nobel Peace Prize. A regular person like me can not nominate someone, however, a former recipient CAN make a nomination.

I would like to be so bold as to ask you to nominate Salman Khan. I don't know if you are familiar with him, but he started the Khan Academy which offers free education to anybody...but he is doing so much more. This man and his efforts need to be applauded, and supported. I firmly believe that the answer to world peace is through education.

I know you are a busy man, but I think it would be in everybody's best interest if a man such as yourself took a personal interest in this.
