the following email was just received regarding the explosion that Iran denies.

"An iranian nuclear facility has been hit by a huge explosion, the second such blast in a month, prompting speculation that Tehran's military and atomic sites are under attack. Satellite imagery seen by The Times confirmed that a blast that rocked the city of Isfahan on Monday struck the uranium enrichment facility there, despite denials by Tehran. The images clearly showed billowing smoke and destruction, negating Iranian claims yesterday that no such explosion had taken place. Israeli intelligence officials told The Times that there was "no doubt" that the blast struck the nuclear facilities at Isfahan and that it was "no accident". The explosion at Iran's third-largest city came as satellite images emerged of the damage caused by one at a military base outside Tehran two weeks ago that killed about 30 members of the Revolutionary Guard, including General Hassan Moghaddam, the head of the Iranian missile defence program. Iran claimed that the Tehran explosion occurred during testing on a new weapons system designed to strike at Israel. But several Israeli officials have confirmed that the blast was intentional and part of an effort to target Iran's nuclear weapons program.

On Monday, Isfahan residents reported a blast that shook tower blocks in the city at about 2.40pm and seeing a cloud of smoke rising over the nuclear facility on the edge of the city. "This caused damage to the facilities in Isfahan, particularly to the elements we believe were involved in storage of raw materials," said one military intelligence source. He would not confirm or deny Israel's involvement in the blast, instead saying that there were "many different parties looking to sabotage, stop or coerce Iran into stopping its nuclear weapons program". Iran went into frantic denial yesterday as news of the explosion at Isfahan emerged. Alireza Zaker-Isfahani, the city's governor, claimed that the blast had been caused by a military exercise in the area but state-owned agencies in Tehran soon removed this story and issued a government denial that any explosion had taken place at all. On Monday, Dan Meridor. the Israeli Intelligence Minister, said: "There are countries who impose economic sanctions and there are countries who act in other ways in dealing with the Iranian nuclear threat." Major-General Giora Eiland, Israel's former director of national security, told Israel's army radio that the Isfahan blast was no accident. "There aren't many coincidences, and when there are so many events there is probably some sort of guiding hand, though perhaps it's the hand of God," he said.

A former Israeli intelligence official cited at least two other explosions that have "successfully neutralised" Iranian bases associated with the Shahab-3, the medium-range missile that could be adapted to carry a nuclear warhead. "This is something everyone in the West wanted to see happen," he added. Iran has repeatedly denied the existence of a nuclear weapons program, and strongly condemned the International Atomic Energy Agency's report last month that accused Iran of trying to build a nuclear weapon."

makes for very interesting reading.

i did have a brief look to see if the same information was contained in those other threads. thought it might warrant its own thread due to paragraphs 2 and 3 and the interesting comments from the former israel minister.

if im wrong then mods can close this thread.

Actually I was just (helpfully?) providing some background reading links to people who might not have heard of this explosion yet.
Wasnt trying to say "discussed already".

Definitely an interesting comment.

What's really interesting is if it is true then Iran are cornered, sadly.

They can't admit it was an attack because they'd be forced to retaliate which means War, and given the covert style of the attack there are no accomplices, so if they have no evidence there's no-one to blame so an attack/retaliation by Iran could be classed as the first move, so they could be denying to stop war. Or, maybe to buy themselves time to assemble what they can to launch a strike. Terrible stuff either way. Iran Nuclear scientists have been getting assassinated left, right and centre.

It's pretty sad because Israel have nuclear weapons and have not signed the Nuclear Non-proliferation treaty.

It's like Israel is almost begging to take responsibility and Iran is just sweeping the obvious clues under the rug..

This reeks of Israel wanting Iran to "retaliate" and Iran knows that this would secure the international community to Israels side.

That email in the OP sounds exactly like something Sorcha Faal would write. I'm not going to even look.

This is what just you revive as an E-mail there is no other foreign real source to confirm.

Even those picture taken from the satellite are so fake that a 5 year old photoshop beginner can understands that.

Find another place to spread fear and for warmongering.

Iran may just be holding off until they can actually catch someone in the act rather than just start blaming this one or that and looking paranoid and being accused of jumping at shadows.

they may just be willing to accept these attacks for now and deny any involvement from a foreign enemy as a strategy

This is getting really intense. IF Mossad or the Saudis or the CIA, were to be involved. What a clever move. Iran probally wants the Israeles to fly over and bomb. Then they can scream bloody murder. Then have a reason for fighting back and setting off there sleeper cells. But this way, they are probally running around in circles like chickens with there heads cut off. Not knowing where to look. Im not one that wants war and violence. But this way it does not kill any innocent Iranians.

I wonder what the next move will be. Thoughts?

You're in Iran. Can you confirm that this facility hasn't been destroyed?

Pics?

Actually, an attack on an enrichment facility could be equal to a nuclear reactor melting down. I'm not sure. Anyone care to hazard a guess?

If true, the nuclear fallout could kill a lot of people. I doubt Israel care much about that negative side-effect.

I don't have a pic , but my friends there told me nothing about that.

While Iran has denied anything like an explosion , these people do their own job and never seem to stop warmongering.

No explosion in Isfahan: Iran official

These are the people I never trust. I mean the warmongers.

Maybe they are the heads of military industries ? screaming " WAR , WAR" to sell their own weapons and run their lives .

They have bombed Nuclear facilities before. I coppied this from wikipedia.
In 1976, Iraq purchased an "Osiris"-class nuclear reactor from France.[6][7] While Iraq and France maintained that the reactor, named Osirak by the French, was intended for peaceful scientific research,[8] the Israelis viewed the reactor with suspicion, and said that it was designed to make nuclear weapons.[3] On June 7, 1981, a flight of Israeli Air Force F-16A fighter aircraft, with an escort of F-15As, bombed and heavily damaged the Osirak reactor.[9] Israel claimed it acted in self-defense, and that the reactor had "less than a month to go" before "it might have become critical."[10] Ten Iraqi soldiers and one French civilian were killed.[11] The attack took place about three weeks before the elections for the Knesset

I surpose it wont be as bad as bombs being dropped and shells fired from tanks and rifles with DU. Thats a true crime.

They also can't admit they got hit because it would be seen as "Gods Will" and they can't admit to God having allowed them to get hit. Admiting that God Will is to let Israel defeat their interests would fly in the face of their entire religious propoganda.

Sucks when your own "Gods Will" lets you lose lol.
