Freddie died 20 years ago today, Thanksgiving of 2011. My favorite rock artist, his music has helped through some hard times, and made fun times even better.
If you are a fan, please post your favorite songs by the man.
1. Bohemian Rhapsody
2. These are the days of our lives
3. Somebody to love.

"Freddie Mercury died 20 years ago today. The Queen singer and songwriter had been secretly battling AIDS for four years, announcing that he had contracted the disease on Nov. 23, 1991, one day before he passed away of AIDS-related bronchopneumonia. He was 45."

Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving

Hi,
What a nice idea you had, Freddie Mercury was a perfect music genious.
There's so much songs I love, but the one I love on top of the other is...

Bohemian Rahpsody, of course... The best Opera-Rock of all times.

On a side note, Queen recording studios in Montreux (Switzerland) are just a few kilometers from home, I should visit them one day. I suppose there's a great celebration there today, Freddie Mercury's producer is known to organize a celebration each year. Maybe I should look for fireworks in this part of the lake, tonight

Freddie even have his own giant metal statue there, looking and singing to the lake. It's very beautiful at night, I hope to find or take a picture of it.

Yes, this is this one :

(Sorry I don't know how to make it appear here instead of just a link to it)

And in reality, it's superb...

For the side story, in 1978 I think, Queen came to Montreux to record an album. They fell in love with this studio and especially Montreux, so Freddie decided to just buy it. I love this story

The show still goes on

Were you aware that they just announced this week that Sasha Cohen (Borat) was signed to play Freddie in a movie about his life? No word yet if Cohen will be doing his own singing.....Should be interesting. One thing I loved about Freddie that some people may not know is that although he was the ultimate showman and tore up the stage like nobody's business in every concert, off-stage he was a shy, quiet, and humble man............
There's no way I could pick just 3 favorite Queen songs since I like so many of them, so I've decided to share 3 lesser known tracks that rarely (if at all) got any radio play but still kick butt:

1. "Put Out The Fire" from the album "Hot Space"

2. "Khashoggi's Ship" from the album "The Miracle"

3. "Dragon Attack" from the album "The Game"

I've been a Queen fan for over 35 years. Best damn band ever imo AND no one could hold a flame to him. Greatest frontman in the history of music. Pick a favorite song?

I was at this concert in '78:
