I'm curious what your example of a true communist nation is, OP. The majority of the so-called 'communist' regimes that we have seen in the last 100 or so years have not been communist-most have been
fascist.

this is the usual cop out by people who seem to have some childhood crush on communism, call it "fascist" in reality.

There can never be "true" communism outside of a textbook, so the examples of communism in reality are real tangible examples of communism once it leaps from a textbook..........

*shakes head*

Childish crush on communism??? Thanks for that, got me to actually laugh out loud. Needed that today.

Explain to me where I 'copped out'....oh wait, you cant, because I didnt. I simply pointed out a FACT. I'm sorry if those pesky little things are too much for ya.....

In all, all you had to say was that you can't give an example of communism, as it hasnt existed. Coulda saved yourself a few keystrokes there.

The fact of the matter is that communism, socialism, and fascism are very different things. You should try learning about them a bit.

you are mistaken there fella, these ARE examples of communism outside of textbook, do try and keep up- there is no such thing as "TRUE" communism, this only exists in text books, so the examples of communism we have referenced are valid examples of communism in the hands of man, not just as words.

Yeah, sure you don't have a secret crush, methinks you doth protest too much! ;-)

So there has been communism, just not "true communism"? Who knew? But if it isnt "true communism", how can it be communism? Oh, thats right, it cant.

What we have seen in the hands of man is the perversion of an ideology. We have not seen communism.

So, two posts so far, lots of words, and still, all you have said is that there has not been a true example of communism in recent human history.

And for the record, you can accuse of 'secret crushes' and whatever other oh-so-mature terms you can come up with, but you dont know me, or what I believe, and the fact of the matter is there is only one person in this exchange protesting, and it is you.

Yes, there has been communism, because "true" communism only exists in a text book- so yes, it can be "communism", it can never be "true", this term would apply to it in theory, not reality- this is communism in reality!

What we have seen in the hands of man is the perversion of an ideology. We have not seen communism.

We have, we have seen communism in action, it can never be "pure" outside of a textbook, but nonetheless remains valid examples of the disastrous effects of trying to transfer communism from some sort of theory into reality- communism in reality will always result in repression and crushing of the spirit, this is the world of man, where have you been all your life lol

And for the record, you can accuse of 'secret crushes' and whatever other oh-so-mature terms you can come up with, but you dont know me, or what I believe, and the fact of the matter is there is only one person in this exchange protesting, and it is you.

sure, just you keep kissing your copy of DAS KAPITAL good night!

Negative on that C-Knots...Socialism and Communism are blood-brothers and when they unite with mankind, the offspring is, and always will be, fascism...

True communism as envisioned by Marx has never been implemented. The example you use 'Russia' rapidly became a Cult of Personality under Stalin. China's form of communism was just an authoritarian police state. no country has ever managed real communism. The actual theory is very fair and utopian but its us that are the problem. Marx was probably hundreds of years ahead of his time, maybe some future generation can make his ideas a reality.

pew-pew. Marx was a self loathing idiot(he was very much a member of the bourgeois class). Communism is first and foremost an economic system. The main problem with communism is that it tries to be a "be all end all" type thing.

And in the end it becomes the perfect state for evil psychopaths and sociopaths.

Now if you combined Political Constitutional Republic + Economic Socialism(or Communism) + Social Libertarianism= Possible Win.

The problem is you have sick pups who try and make Communism both a Political and Social theory as well. It is kind of like Ghost-busters "you never cross the streams".
