I'll start off by saying I support OWS. I support them because they are displaying "Power to the People" like never before. When the movement started the focus was on greed and corruption in our system. There is no clear "focus" because there is wide range of topics as to why our government is so broken. We have to start somewhere though.

OWS has empowered People to not lay down and just let business run as usual. Even before the Occupy Movement started we could all agree our government was up to no good. When I joined ATS 3 months ago, I was begging for People to take the streets and demand JUSTICE.

The events of 2008 made our Bankers and Government so transparent and we have found out what EXACTLY they have done to this country. They have used the system to reap all the benefit while we the "99%" have paid for it. The system is propped up on the sweat of our brow. Soon it will be propped up on the tears of our misery.

If you disagree with the Occupy Movement I would really like to know what you would do differently. Don't let a few morons that take a crap on a Police vehicle ruin your whole view of the IDEA that Occupy stands for. Will you continue to sit at your keyboard ranting and raving about conspiracies and do nothing about it? I see conspiracies theories about how Occupy is planned by TPTB. This wasn't planned. They didn't see this coming at all. The Bankers and our Government thought they were going to laugh themselves all the way to the bank and get away with it. Well they screwed up. They're playing 20th Century politics in the 21st Century. The internet and alternative media sources like ATS have made them so transparent without their consent. The MSM is laughable in the way they gear their stories. You can already see early in election season who they are throwing up as THEIR candidates. They just keep repeating the same names until we believe those are the only ones worth picking.

I've gone to Occupy events and the best part about them is when educated people, like ATSers, go down to speak to others it makes them more aware of HOW our government and Banks for the last 50-100 years have systematically got us in the hole we are in. I would confidently like to say that ATSers Deny Ignorance and we are best at seeing through History's Lies of the last 100 years. The more people that understand the HISTORY that has lead us to where we are is when the truth spreads like a virus.

I admit Occupy isn't quite on track but that is changing in the coming months. We already can see it. Soon we will see a massive convergence on Washington DC and hopefully the Federal Reserve branches across the countries. The best part is that it has remained PEACEFUL even with all of the POLICE VIOLENCE.

So I ask all ATSer's do everything you can to Advertise Peace. If you have a Facebook page advertise Ending War. The first step in cleaning up our government is to get out of these Wars. TPTB design Wars. The People inherently want Peace. We can only get Peace by demanding it. Only after that can we begin to fix the sickness in our government.

I know some of these videos have been posted quite a few times but they speak volumes. Whether you agree or disagree with Occupy remember that its POWER TO THE PEOPLE like never before seen. Its not the Civil Rights movement 2.

Its the Human Rights Movement.

I'll whole heartedly agree with the part of your message about Peace. We have kids now graduating High School who literally don't have a clear memory of a time the United States wasn't in a full shooting war and everything that has gone with it. Enough......

No Syria...

No Yemen

For the love of all, NO IRAN!

We need our people home going into 2012, not in more nations engaged in new wars.

So, indeed. Anti-OWS or Pro-OWS, I believe we can all agree on that as a principle going forward.

I don't know if any of you watched those videos but the most important one is the John Lennon video. I find it extremely uplifting that our society is finally fully understanding what this man was trying to accomplish. The internet has brought us together as One People. Without a world government.

Hell, I wouldn't be able to talk to any of you about this without the internet.

I spent nearly 4 years of my life in warzones. Because of experiences and reasons too numerous to mention, I agree with you. Incidently, I was not someone in a warzone who was blowing people up or trying to kill them. On the contrary, I was a medic and a firefighter trying to put them back together, to include the native nationals and host nations' citizens of whatever country I was in.

I grew up in an Irish/Italian Catholic working class neighborhood, go to any house and there were two things you were sure to find hanging on the wall somewhere, a crucifix and a picture of JFK. I was taught from a young age that Democrats were the lesser of two evils, but if I had a choice between Obama and Ron Paul, I would pick Ron Paul, because he's pledged to put an end to this ridiculous Orwellian constant state of war that we find ourselves in.
Maybe it would be a good idea to enact a draft for the children of elected officials, take them from their ivy league schools and give them a choice between Army infantry or the Marines. This is of course pure fantasy on my part, but could you imagine what would happen if we did this? I'm sure it would usher in a new era of Pax Americana.

I'll start off by saying that I do NOT support OWS. I have stated my reasons several times and do not intend to get into that here. I also support peace over war, even though my business is war. Why? Because war is hell. We should ALL want peace and tranquility and comfort. We should all want stability in the world...However:

1. War, while absolutely a horrible thing, IS sometimes necessary. I know this is ATS, and everyone and their uncle here believes that all threats are fabricated. I do not. I believe in mitigating threats through diplomacy and the open market place. People who do business together don't have a reason to fight if their prosperity depends on it. That said, some people and regimes do what they do because of fanaticism, be it religion, politics, or even money.

Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait because his country went broke fighting the Iranians and the Kuwaitis had oil, money, and other resources that Iraq simply needed.

2. Iran is such a regime where the fanaticism of Islamic extremism(Caliph complex) is a major driving force of Iranian policy not just toward Israel but toward the whole world. Make no mistake, Islamic extremism, be it Sunni or Shiite is built on a substrate of empire building. While most Muslims do NOT think this way, the fact is, those willing to commit murder in order to get it are the ones driving policy in the Middle East today. Eventually we WILL have to get involved because radical Islam aims to take over the world and we are part of that. I do not believe as many of you do, that our involvement in the Middle East is simply a quest for oil, or whatever other issue ascribed to it. Most of our oil comes from Canada and right here in the US. Our dependence on Saudi oil and other ME nations is not a pronounced as political propaganda would have you believe.

3. A nuclear armed Iran with present leadership WOULD present an existential threat to Israel. Given enough time it would also present an existential threat to the US and Europe. Being aided by China and Russia, who despite outward appearance, have demonstrably been engaging in proxy conflict with the US through Iran(via Iraqi insurgency such as the Mahdi Army) and helping the Iranian nuclear program through technical and material support. They are fighting this war just as much as the Iranians are, and arguably more. The is a larger power struggle going on out there, and Iran is barely the tip of the iceberg.

4. If you believe things are bad now, wait till the Chinese or Russians take over the role we currently fill in the world today.

All of that said:

Do we do crappy things? You bet.

Do we make large mistakes that hurt people and foster the type of anti-American sentiment we see in some of these nations? You bet.

Do we need to work on different ways of handling these problems that don't ALWAYS involve mobilizing the military power of the United States? YES!

Can we afford to totally withdraw and ignore these problems until they grow out of control? No.

"Why not" you ask? Because history shows us that if we allow ideology that seeks world domination through warfare, terrorism, and genocide(as Wahhabism[Sunni-Osama bin Laden] and Mahdism [Shiite-Mahmoud Ahmadinejad] want), then we will wind up being embroiled in a world war much bigger than all previous wars ever combined. And the weapons with which we fight it, make no mistake, will be nuclear along with conventional means. We CANNOT afford this. And sometimes we have to break a few eggs to make an omellete.

To add to what John Lennon speaks about in his video the song Revolution comes to mind. This song parallels our time period. We are in the midst of a Revolution however way you look at it.

You say you want a revolution
Well, you know We all want to change the world

(Its true we all want to change the world in some form or fashion)

You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world

(This statement reinforces that that the time period we are going though is a form of mental evolution)

But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out

(I love this line. I'm sick of all the Doom and Gloom on ATS. We need to spread positive messages. Peace not War. People hate when you shove Doom and Gloom down their throats. Even if you are 100% correct about your concerns.)

Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right

(Its gonna be alright
)

You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan

(Everyone knows the system is broken so stop repeating yourself.)

You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We're doing what we can
But when you want money
for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait

(Taxes and welfare programs is just citizens giving more and more money to people "with minds that hate")

Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right

You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head

(The government keeps messing with the constitution. The constitution is fine the way it is. We would love to change TPTB minds)

You tell me it's the institution
Well, you know
You better free you mind instead

(Great part of the song. We here at ATS are already "awake". We have already "freed our minds". The phrase free your mind got attached to counter culture/drug culture of the 60's. So people attach "free your mind" with drugs. "Free your mind" means Deny Ignorance to me.)

But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow

(This is the message to Occupy Wall Street IMO. The government/Obama says he will take care of us. We all know Socialism/Communism isn't the answer. Lose your dependence from the government.)

Don't you know its gonna be alright.

War has changed. The age of deterrence has become the age of control... All in the name of averting catastrophe from Weapons of Mass Destruction. He who controls the battlefield...controls history. War has changed. When the battlefield is under total control...War becomes routine. - Solid Snake (MGS4)

War is to the 21st century what Oil was to the 20th; the pillar that supports the global economy. - Colonel Roy Campbell(MGS4)

Hideo Kojima hits the nail right on the head with the ideals about war in his video games.

Mankind must put an end to War or War will put an end to mankind - John F. Kennedy

All the War we see now is a product of the military industrial complex. We are in the middle of the military industrial complex's peak. We wouldn't have things like Private Military Contractors if there wasn't any War. Once Armies are a business War is the product.

I'm voting for Peace and Love in 2012

it's crazy man! I've been a fan of JL forever but I always thought he was a bit too "hippy'ish". now years later watching the op's vid of him, I can see your statement is very true. he doesn't condone government for war and oppression nor does he condone it for a nanny state either.

we really don't need government. we continue to elect people to work against us, the people.

and also I'm for peace above anything else at all times!

Iran has no legit threat against the US of A. Iran is far from the threat Hitler ever was. War is only necessary when its a War of Good and Evil. WW2 was the last REAL War in my eyes.

We fight wars now to potentially deter another Hitler. The Western Government has needed to create boogeymen to convince us to go to War. Iran just wants the US to leave them alone and stop Policing the World. The citizens of the Middle East don't want War anymore then we do. They're convinced by their Governments that we are Evil because of our presence in the Middle East that effects their daily lives.

Everyone just rather be left alone. Our actions perpetuate the hate we see against us.
