District 9 is the best movie!

I just watched it again and I love it. It is fab on so many levels.

Racism - made me laugh when everyone in was like... "oh wish they would go home and they are not the same as us humans "

and Victor was so sweeet and yet LMAO when he lost his sht "don't point your effing tenticle at me"

And the 'prawns' were sweet (in the end anyway) quite brutal but still endearing.

It didn't cost Jackson too much to make and I reckon (hopefully) there will be a sequel!!

I wouldn't say it is the best movie I have ever seen - but I would say that given the image on the cover I envisioned an independence day type film, and was blown away by the movie because it was so very well done.
It was the surprise at how it was filmed that got me - and it was definitely the best film I have seen this year.

Definitely a very very good film. I was reading on a few websites that they are working on a sequel for 2012. Coz they themselves were so shocked by how well the movie did that now they want to make a sequel! I really hope it is a follow on from the first part and not, like some movies do, bring out a sequel that has no connection to the first part.

Although District 9 was produced by Wingnut(Peter Jackson's company)the main craetive bulk of it came from Neill Blokamp.

There was a line in District 9,something like:

"We will return in 2012"

I always hoped that meant a sequel-It deserves one IMO.

Rumors are strong that there is work being done on District 10,not sure when.
Can't wait.
