Dang it! Hhe didn't ask you to come down and help--kind that your offer is.
Stay there and enjoy your winter. We're fine. He'll have to figure it out himself.

(Sigh, every year those snowbirds look for the slightest reason to flock south!)

welcome!

Just be warned. Texas seems to catch a lot of flack on ATS.

IMO, others are just jealous of how awesome our state is, even after looking at the negatives.

lol... I was going to mention that as well but figured it would be self evident once she gets settled in. I'm betting most of the folks here that bash Texas have never actually visited here. Texas really is awesome isn't it?

Native Texan here too. Lived in Houston most my life but migrated to E. TX to get out of the city. I love my State! Welcome to ATS. I've enjoyed my time here. Very informative.

Texas is great. It is a state of mind that you cannot understand unless you live here a while.
I wouldn't trade Texas for a half dozen Colorado's. Actually, Colorado would be great if it weren't for the people there.

Welcome to ATS.

Grow a thick skin, and remember: pics or it didn't happen.

If you get near San Antone, say hi to the breweries for me.

Thanks for the welcome, I had already seen that Texas sometimes brings smack talk but I'm cool with that. Also being Christian (which I am) brings a lot of instant hate but I've grown used to that in this world. All in all, Texas is pretty awesome!

Greetings nighbor!

I haven't really run in to any Texas bashing in the threads I've participated in, lucky I guess.

Whomever thinks they can bash me for where I live certainly has a shock coming if they think we're (Texans) nothing but a bunch of cowboy hat-wearing, gun-toting rednecks, they've got quite the surprise coming.

Like you, I lurked for a long time until a topic sparked enough interest to cause me to register.

Have learned LOTS since then and am amazed every day at the depth of knowledge and level if discourse I've fund. Of course, you have the random troll or otherwise intellectually-stunted cretinbut they are thanlfully few and far between.

Looking forward to seeing a fellow Texian in the threads!
