Nonviolent? Really? Looks like the S is about to hit the F in New York City after the protesters got evicted from their park because they wouldn't clean up their room.

OWS Protesters Calling For ‘Day Of Action’ Following Loss Of Camp In Zuccotti Park

The loss of their camp at Zuccotti Park doesn’t seem to be slowing down the Occupy Wall Street movement as protesters are calling for “a national day of direct action” on Thursday.

While the official movement is planning its day of action, other individuals seem to be making plans of their own.

In a video posted on YouTube after protesters were evicted from Zuccotti Park, a demonstrator in the crowd says “On the 17th, we’re going to burn New York City to the ground.”

Later in the video, he then goes on to say “No more talking. They’ve got guns, we’ve got bottles. They’ve got bricks, we’ve got rocks…in a few days you’re going to see what a Molotov cocktail can do to Macy’s.”

Of course, the "official" leaderless movement is calling for only nonviolent protests, behind the scenes there are plans for "burning New York City to the ground".

The official movement is calling for only non-violent action during its marches and rallies on Thursday.

That's the last sentence in the article... hardly surprising...

Totally ignored... also unsurprising.

And the dance continues

Bro, they tried being peaceful!
They sat there and got shot with rubber bullets, tear gassed, beat by the people "Protecting" them, or that should be, and It's wrong for them to want to change something?? Are you blind? "If you cant be a good example, youre just gonna set a bad one". If you can't see this as good, youre gonna see it as bad. Good for them stickin it to the man.

If they don't cut it out they will be occupying an intensive care ward ... as patients with traumatic brain injuries.

If they were smart they would go back to their trendy little Hipster cafes in Williamsburg and sip lattes. They are mere pawns of the Marxist and far left radicals trying to impose a Socialist state.

If so, in a few days, protesters in NYC will find out what the NYPD are actually capable of.

Too bad, most Americans will have no sympathy for the OWS movement if they choose to go violent and destroy property.

When spoiled brats can't get their way, eventually they throw a tantrum.

How about instead of destroying business owners' property that didn't do anything wrong, maybe take a large group of people and go after the top war & crimes against humanity criminals? Perhaps a mob of people taking these people into custody and having common law trials for them. That's what they'd do to any of us suspected of crimes.

Personally, I don't live in NYC, so if the OWS protest "burns New York City to the ground", then so be it. I am warning my friends and family though in that area to be on the lookout in the next couple days, and if they get the feeling they should get out of town quick, then my house is always open to them.

These comments make me want to cry.
If you watched the video about burning the city to the ground, it's a black man, slappin his other black friends hand, while the people surrounding him started to leave and look at him like WTF. Seems like your generalization of the whole movement from one angry man.

We know what the NYPD is capable of.

Cowardice and crime.. and covering up crimes.. and brutality.. that enough? I could go on

These are idle threats. Everyone knows that Macy's is Molotov Cocktail proof because the real Santa Claus works for them during the holiday season which starts next week. Those christmas decorations are really invisible shield projectors.

I know this because I work across the street and whenever I used to throw paper airplanes onto the roof (to anger the guard dogs), the airplanes would hit the shield and burn up before landing on the roof.

The way most of NYC views the OWS situation is simple. Their rave was just shut down and now they need to find a new place to pass the time and have their party. It's funny, the locals are fed up with them and the media is, finally, taking their side. Last night, on NBC's 11PM news, one report was about the media blackout during the eviction. Turns out the cops forced the reporters out of the area and the NBC guy was pretty upset about it. When they told him to get off the street, he asked why. When they said he was blocking traffic, he pointed out that they had closed the street to all traffic hours earlier. There were a bunch of these ridiculous lies told to the reporters.

They ignore that because it doesn't fit their agenda.

They used to try and do it cleverly.. it's descended to silliness now.

"we are going to protest"

"ok that is your free right"

"were not leaving"

"ok you dont have to, but you are not allowed to have tents and squat,"

"we will not remove our tents we are teh 99%, you are stompin on our rights"

"no we said you can protest all you want, not tents, this isnt a camp ground it is a public park"

"we will resist"

*pepper spray and removal of tents*

"you are free to protest as you were all along"

"we will burn your city down"

My understanding is that OWS is planning a Street Carnival type theme for tomorrows events.

“Join Occupy Wall Street and 99%ers from across the country as we shut down the stock market by throwing a block party the 1% will never forget,” the page states.

Sources within the Occupy Wall Street movement confirmed that the page, which details plans to stop the opening bell from ringing, is authentic.

The page says that a “People's Bell” will ring out instead, and outlines plans for a street carnival in which protesters “rebuild and celebrate the neighborhoods that the Wall Street economy has destroyed.” The action is expected to focus on housing, food, the environment, health care and education, with people from communities telling their stories and protesters constructing monuments to signify the rebuilding of neighborhoods.

Funny how they mention housing as part of their focus. Remember that it was the Progressive/Liberal push and rationale that claimed everyone was entitled to own a house that helped get our nation into the current mess in the first place. Come get a house, doesn't matter if you can't afford it just sign on the line... Nothing wrong with renting and living within your means eh? Apparently, that's not part of the Progressive ideology. What about the neighborhoods destroyed by our govt.s overreaching into the private sector, the housing markets, mortgage business, auto industry etc etc.

Keep your eyes on the guy who swallows fire tomorrow.

Unbelievable

Peaceful group eh?
I was thinking of saying well maybe these are just a few
Then I read your posts, saw some other comments on the article in other websites

Some are saying it's about time
Some sound like you

Forget it

Ya burn NYC to the ground, why don't you start with hospitals and then ask for free healthcare, then burn the schools down and ask for free education!

Listen, there's nothing wrong with wanting change but there may be something wrong with the way you approach it

If I throw a rock at an elderly man's head and I scream I want change does that mean you would defend me?
I'm not saying any OWSer did this, what I am saying is the approach may be far more important than the desire.

And once again, sticking it to the man always meant sticking it to an entity that took something from you like govt. taxing you, the 'man' was never just ordinary business owners.

You guys are so confused it's confusing

I love you people. You crack me up.

I see constant bitching and complaining on here about our government. About corporations and everything else. I see complaints about bail outs, complaints about gas prices, wall street, etc etc etc.

But people go out and actually protest??? HA! Stupid hippies with no jobs. I hope they get shot in the face. I hope their kids lose their parents. How dare they stand up to a corrupt government.

To everyone who is against OWS... and who thinks this country is screwed up. What do you propose we do? Honestly. And please for the love of everything that is good, don't say "Oh go and vote them out". We know for a fact voting doesn't work. Our candidates are picked and chosen for us. And the end result is more of the same. You voted for Obama because you though he would change things? How's that workin' out for ya?

I don't get it. So you are all OK with your hard earned money being collected in taxes? And that tax going to big banks and mortgage companies, who in turn hand over multi-million dollar bonuses to their CEOS? And that's cool with you? It's cool that in Georgia, murder suspects are getting to walk free because the courts don't have enough money to send them to trial, but Goldman Sacks gets a few hundred billion?

I swear its like the people of this country are so brain washed that they think this is all ok. What if our founding fathers just said "eh.. lets not make trouble against the Brits... let's just do what they say. After all we don't want to cause problems for those Brits who are just trying to make a living."???

I read it this way. Most of the OWS crowd are planning a non-violent response and a nutjob or two (out of how many thousands?) decides to get violent.

So, lets blame the lot of them on the actions of a few eh? I could apply that to America too really, your Govt screwed us and the world therefore it's the whole damned countries fault and you should all be imprisoned for life - yes that's right, the whole damn country - using this rationale.

See how that works?
