Would the world be a better place now if Nazi Germany had won WWII?

Or at least have agreed to a cease fire?

I think the world right now would be a better place if Nazi Germany had not lost world war 2, the balance of power would be better than it is now. Israel would most likely not exist right now if Germany had not lost.

I think the holocaust and persecution of Jews and others would have eventually come to an end, due to an agreement between the allies & Germany, Israel wouldn't exist right now so the middle east would be more peaceful, also Germany would most likely have a heavy military presence in the Middle east along with economic influence, which would lead to less violence and Muslim extremism. .

I think as time passed by, the idea of a "master race" would erode away, and the persecution of Jews, gypsies & gays along with others would stop due to growing pressure by the US, Russia and UK. I think Nazi Germany would be the most powerful nation on Earth right now, if not then at least on pair with the United States which would lead to a more balanced world.

This is not a thread to endorse Nazism or Hitler or anything like that, but with all the news recently about Israel pushing for war with Iran & growing middle east tension, I think that if Germany had won the wart then nothing like this would be happening now, I don't even think the Iraq war would be happening now due to German's presence in the Middle East.

Your thoughts?

Purely hypothetically, no it wouldn't. The world would have imploded a long time before now had the Nazi's won the war.

There are just too many conflicting viewpoints from around the world - so much so that every nation would have had their own resistance movements. That much unstability would eventually have passed back to Germany, where, to be honest, the Nazi's also were not universally popular.

It is an interesting case to consider though. And on the plus side, if they had won, we may all be flying around in flugelcraft now! How cool would that be?

If Germany would of won they would be huge right now controlling Europe, Russia, most of Asia and Africa and even some parts in South America. The way I see it America is no better than what Germany was and Germany was no better than America is now so it doesnt really matter we would have an evil corrupt country no matter what.

Yes but the Nazis used that sort of mentality in order to get the people's support at a time when Germany was going through a sever depression, hyper inflation and debt from the previous war.

You don't think that as time progressed, that sort of "master race" mentality would have watered down through the generations?

I don't know how you can think this.

No, seriously. How can you think this?

Yeah, things seem bad right now, and Israel are certainly no saints, but to think that the world would be a better place if the Nazis were still going strong is just absurd.

The world would (probably) be a better place if the Treaty of Versailles had never existed, giving Germany no reason to turn towards fascism in the first place, in turn giving no reason for Israel to be established, etc. etc...

And in reply to your "in time things would get better and the master race ideal would die away" argument, that's basically just saying "the ends justify the means", which I disagree with. Strongly.

www.adolfthegreat.com...

There would still be an 'Israel' no matter who won the war.The Zionist group 'Lehi' would deal/do business with anyone. They even proposed direct military cooporation with the Nazis after the Haavara ageement feel through. The Zionists would have gotten a deal no matter the victor. If Germany had of won I think the world would be better off for sure.Hitler was pretty awesome apart from the holocaust really.

You'll forgive me if I don't take a website called "Adolf the Great" seriously.

Are you denying the facts that are on the site? You can find them plenty of other places.

You kind of forget that Nazi ideology was a deeply racist one. Slavs were considered lesser people worthy only to serve the masters (Aryans - master race),for example. Jews were the enemies thus needed to be exterminated. Others were fit to be servants though. I doubt that hundreds of millions of Slavic people in Eastern Europe would consider it a better place.
Not to mention Africans ,Chinese and ctr.

All I'm saying is that a website calling itself "Adolf the Great" is clearly a website supporting Nazi ideology, and as Nazi ideology is a rather twisted one, I'd rather go and get my facts from somewhere less biased.

But, by all means, post all these other sources of which you speak. Unless, of course, they're like "Adolf the Great", in which case I'd be appreciative if you kept them to yourself.

Cheers.

Are you out of your f*****g mind? The Nazis weren't a misunderstood group of bad lads, they were an entire group of sociopaths, psychopaths, murderers, criminals, the deranged, and the easily led. Theirs wasn't a coherent political philosophy it was the rantings of a madman set out and followed slavishly to the end. Even within Nazi Germany different groups were fighting with each other for prominence and power, and to their mindset the means did justify the end.

The continuation of the Nazi state would have led to Europe returning to the Dark Ages as the horror of a Nazi peace would have meant a Europe without clear direction, leadership, or moral authority. The spectre of the communist hordes in the East ready to roll at a minutes notice would have kept the economies of Europe on a continual war footing, organisations like the Gestapo would have become the norm across Europe, the civilian population of Europe would have become virtual slaves to a nightmare rule of terror. The US would have retreated into its shell, with the threat of the atom bomb to use against anyone who threatened them. In time the development of the Russian bomb would have led to tensions that would have seen a lashing out that would reduce the world to ashes.

The end of the Nazi regime, the death of those at the top of that regime, and their crushing and grinding into the ashes was the best thing that ever happened to them.

First of all....to borrow a phrase off a great man
"If my Aunt had balls she'd be my uncle"

However, really had to answer this;

The way I see it America is no better than what Germany was and Germany was no better than America is now so it doesnt really matter we would have an evil corrupt country no matter what.

Really.

Please show me the concentration camps that the USA has and the millions they have murdered in them.
And it maybe a pretty crap version of 'democracy' practised in the USA but it's a damn sight better than the option granted to the German people by Hitler.
There's plenty more examples I could mention but that really should suffice.

Hell, the USA isn't perfect and indeed has many faults but likening it to Nazi Germany is highly inaccurate and groslly unfair.

It might perhaps be a better world for pure blood Aryans, but those of us who believe in socialism, or any sort of politics of the left, anybody with any sort of mental illness, anybody disabled, anybody with any Jewish ancestry, anybody with any Gypsy ancestry, hundreds of millions of Russian civilians who would have been murdered, millions of British citizens who would have been murdered, it would have been pretty bad.

So good for maybe .5% of the worlds population, and a horrible bloody death for the rest of us.

Hitler was only a socialist in the sense that he dealt with the nations economic problems through massive state spending programs that created employment, most of which were geared towards the arms industry, and general manufacturing infrastructure.

Ideologically, this is where their socialist leanings end, they were much more ideological conservatives. Just because they called themselves social liberals, doesn't mean they were actual social liberals.

And Germany lost 7-8 million casualties in the war. I'd hardly call that 'looking after his people'.

Considering the history of Nazi German...and Hitler's henchmen and their legacy....no I don't think the world would be a better place....I think the world would most likely be a place in a far worse condition than it is now.
