Hello everyone.

So I have been travelling a lot lately, and I must say, it sure makes life fun.

Brand new experiences add flavor to your life, and travelling is a great way to taste these new flavors.

The different sights, smells, cultures, people; I love it so much.

But I will say the biggest thing I have discovered through my travels is that the entire planet Earth; it is all home.

Anywhere you go on planet Earth, there will be a sense of familiarity. It makes me think of how my atoms have indeed travelled all over the world before in past lives, in past human bodies.

The gist of this thread is, go on a journey. It doesn't matter how big or small of a distance it is, because I always find that I learn new things about myself and the world with every step I take.

Sounds like a good idea if it wasn't for the fact that most people cant afford this or even have time due to work.

Jack out, if'n you can!

I jacked out April Fools day last year and refuse to jack back in. I've traveled and met so many wonderful peeps and a few azzwipes too but most I've met are beautiful.

One ride I caught was a Vietnam Vet who liked to wear dresses, so I call him Klinger.
He was a blast to talk with and other than wering a dress, he was just like everyone else.

I have so many stories I can tell, about the peeps I've met on my travels and things I've seen and more stories to come, so if'n you can jack out, dew!

The biggest thing I discovered from traveling is that you can't run away from your problems. They follow you and find you eventually. Better to just deal with them head on. The biggest thing I discovered from traveling the US is that there are not really as many socialists in this country as the media makes you believe. I drove around the contiguous 48 for months. I talked to people all over. In pubs, bars, coffee houses, laundry mats, in line at the 7-11, or in Barnes and Nobles all across the land there are people who believe we took a major wrong turn in the last 10-20 years. We need to turn back. We need to end free trade agreements. We need to stop pandering to illegals. Most people still love this nation and hate the current system. However they are waiting for a leader. Someone to really get up and speak for them. Every one of them I asked has their reasons as to why they cannot be the leader. It just needs a spark or a catalyst and someone to stand up. Who will be that someone?

Had I not spent most of my savings on rebuilding my home then I would of gone traveling long ago. I understand where you are coming from but with these hard times upon us, it's just not gonna happen anytime soon. The best I can do is maybe drive to another city not too far from home but once again gas prices foil my every attempt.

So true OP.

Travelling to other countries has totally opened my eyes and made me realise many things.
First off is how places can be so different yet deep down (and not really even that deep) people are all the same.
Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Athiest and everything in between what almost everyone wants is to meet someone, have a family, give their kids a better life than they had and generally just be happy.

Sorry but I dont buy the no time or money cop out, the only thing in my mind that could prevent someone who really wants to travel from doing so is children.

I got a job working in Malaysia and when my contract finished and I was sent home all I wanted to do was get back, I had no savings or prospects to speak of but I was determined to make it happen.
I approached every company I could think of who could possibly benefit from doing something offshore but after 6 months got nowhere. I finally thought stuff it and found a company who were looking for work from home telemarketers, I approached them and said I wanted the job but home was going to be Malaysia, they had reservations but I told them it was exactly the same as working around the corner what with Skype and email nowadays. 2 years later that telemarketing job has turned into a genuine career with the option to base myself anywhere in the world.

People, where there is a will there is a way, if you want something bad enough dont make excuses just make it happen!!!!

A lot of people are bringing money into this but a journey doesn't have to be some big trip to a different continent. It could be as simple as taking a different route home. Or shopping at a different grocery store.

But we're supposed to believe that our corporate system is the greatest thing in the world?

The best thing about travelling is learning to see through all the bogus propaganda we're taught: like everyone wants to invade us, every other country sucks except for ours, etc.
