Firstly, the weather has always interested me for safety reasons. I've seen a lot of radar images and have a basic understanding of weather mechanics. Does anyone think this storm is simply amazing? Here is the radar image currently.

No conspiracy here, just a very interesting massive storm.

Sweetie, I've lived up in Illinois for half of my life. I'm used to this, storms have literally come out of nowhere and ruined a good day. Yes, it does happen. Everything is not a conspiracy.

I'm in the upper Midwest. Right now, it's noticeably cooler but no storms in site. I'm grilling and felt a slight bit or rain a minute ago but it's gone now.

We will have wonderful weather next week, though.

Edit, I agree with Heartisblack. The July 11 storm came out of nowhere. The one prior to was crazy, too. However, I believe the weather is great tonight.

Yeah, I agree. We have had a few interesting storms up here in MN this summer. Massive in scale and quite large in strength. The jet stream is really sticking it to us here this year. Wonder what this Winter is going to hold for us.

This looks like a fairly large storm over the upper midwest.

Yeah it's a decent size storm. I'm in southwest MI and this doesn't really seem too out of the ordinary to me. Seems to really be bring some cool weather along with it, though. It was 90 all day and its probably dropped close to 20 degrees so far.

I live near St. Louis on the Illinois side. We could use the rain. Can't wait.

Not to go off topic here, but how is the flooding issue in the mid-west? I haven't heard much about it lately here on ATS.

Considering the size of that storm, made me wonder.....

Storm just now arriving in N. Indiana. So far
just constant lightening. The temps have
been in the 90's and we drop down tomorrow
for highs in the 70's. That will be a welcome
relief.

I've been watching this for a bit now. I think that I will be sleeping good tonight. As long as lightening does not strike the tree next to my bedroom window again.

THAT WAKES YOU UP.

SE Michigan here.

Some big wind earlier, lots of lightning, but the storms either fizzle out or go around us.
We could use some rain.....maybe later, supposedly a 70% chance for Sunday......

And after all of this, I don't believe we got a drop of rain last night.

All I know is that my friends in Pittsburgh posted to facebook that today it's upposed to be 95 degrees, and tomorrow barely 65.

...one of the reasons we moved.

Here in N Indiana we got lightening last
nite but very little rain and we need it. We
have another chance today, hopefully its
rain. We did cool down to a high of 74 today,
feels nice out, better than the 90's we've
been seeing. Something tells me we
are in for an early winter.
