Yet another story showing that the hysteria promoted by gun control advocates is absolutely false. Much to the chagrin of the gun controller, crime always goes down when the laws are relaxed - not up.

This one is from Virginia.

Contrary to widespread predictions, the measure has not turned the streets into rivers of blood.

In fact, since the measure passed, the number of gun-related crimes in bars and restaurants has fallen. The drop may be mere coincidence. But contrary to McEachin's doubts, it does indeed disprove something: It disproves the dire pronouncements of those who opposed the measure during the years it was being debated.

If the critics had been right, then gun crimes in bars and restaurants should have skyrocketed. Instead, they fell.

This is not surprising. Time and again, the public has been warned that broadening the scope of gun rights will lead — automatically, as it were — to an increasing incidence of bloodshed. It happened when Florida passed its concealed-carry law, and when other states followed suit. It happened when the Supreme Court upheld an individual right to carry firearms, and again when the high court applied that ruling to cities beyond the District of Columbia. Time and time again, the prediction has been proven wrong.

IMO, the reasons for this are so very simple. Most criminals are basically cowards hoping to prey on the weak and defenseless. But in a jurisdiction where concealed carry is allowed, how is a criminal to know who is weak and defenseless? So, they move on to so-called "gun free zones" and places like California, Illinois and D.C.

And to refresh everyone, here's the famous "Gun Map" showing the relationship between gun control and mass shootings - more controls = more shootings.

The government isn't trying to disarm us so that we have less crime. They don't want us fighting them when they declare martial law. What do criminals do? They break the law. So who is going to obey the anti gun laws? The law abiding non criminal citizen. But the criminal, being the one who breaks laws, will simply illegally (criminally) buy guns anyways. But now he has free reign because none of the law abiding gun free homes will be able to defend themselves.

Exactly what's been happening in the UK, where guns are outlawed and people have been killed trying to defend their own homes during the recent riots.

Falling on deaf ears.

They'll ignore this like every other report, story, and statistic and next time some news makes waves about guns in parks or bars or churches or wherever they'll come roaring back in full imbecile force chanting that same tired line about blood running in the streets.

You cant fight stupid. You just have to let it fade away.

Absolutely.

You can lead sheeple to the truth, but you can't make them think.

(Did I just invent that line? I like it!)

I was surprised while watching Jon Stewart the other night to see a clip saying that since they've allowed concealed carry in Virginia that crime has dropped. I thought Stewart was anti - 2nd Amendment?
Anyhow, our only glitch here in VA is due to the Tech shootings, where they had just dropped allowing students to carry concealed the year before.
Wherever crooks know that guns are illegal they have much easier victims. It's that simple.
But you guys have already said everything important to add.
